Hannity Blasts FreeRepublic (maybe he is right)
Radio
| Sean Hannity
Posted on 08/02/2002 2:40:49 PM PDT by jbstrick
Hannity just stated on his radio show that he has just about had enough of the conservative cannibals on this board. To many threads end up being ledd about news and information and more about attacking fellow conservatives.
He said if he wants to get attacked he will go to a Liberal board.
I have a tendency to agree...

Never mind, I thought you were referring to someone else.

So what is the real reason that you come to this volunteer site .. ?
With FReegards to internet laws , what is the differential between the republic of America and those that you find in the once enchanting U.K. ?

" I don't even know what you are referring to. Please stop with the conspiracy theories." Sorry Beckie, let me try to help you, I guess you forgot what you posted with the last 20 posts

There are a whole lot more civilized ways to get one's point across and to argue a side of a discussion without resorting to nastiness. This is true. It is unfortunate a significant number of Freepers have begun resorting to this type of behavior when they attempt to argue emotion-laden issues. Many of us have been flamed in this regard at one time or another. But I haven't seen too many anti-Hannity comments of this nature, so can only presume Sean is criticizing Freepers who criticize other republicans.
My question is this: Are we simply suppose to accept the administration, or GOP, "line" on everything? Bill O'Reilly as a tendency to trash anyone who disagrees with him at all. Does Sean think this is appealing? In my opinion, it is not.
There is a big difference between blindly trashing groups of people( i.e., freepers, "The Christian Right, "Fox News" "Bushbots") and pointing out specific instances of "wrongdoing." Can't think of any other word. Nobody, including GWB or Sean Hannity,is perfect.
On FR, we simply like to discuss who is simply screwing up and who is trying to screw us. It's not always that easy to determine. If all we did was commend George W and his crew, nobody would visit and FR would soon be out of business. The same thing would happen at Fox News.
Sean, baby, YOU'RE A TALKSHOW HOST. GROW UP!!!!! YOU'RE GOING TO HEAR FROM A LOT OF IDIOTS.
Trashing, or ignoring other conservatives isn't going to work. Nobody (or at least very few) ever died from trying to hold an intellectual conversation. But a lot of people remained ignorant and got in trouble (Judas included) for walking out of the room too soon. Hang in there, Sean, and all the rest, and have hope. It'll never be perfect, but there are loads of us (conservatives) out here, even though we're all very different. And our day will come again.

Perhaps you've forgotten how dangerous the Clinton years were: The arrests, persecutions and beatings of lawful demonstrators, the IRS being sicced on just about every conservative organization that criticized the Clintons, the demonization and attempts to silence broadcasters like Rush, the death threats (backed up by the Body Count), the blackmail, the private investigators dishing dirt and making threats, the attempts to ruin reputations via the press and on and on.
Yeah, it didn't take any guts to take on the Clintons. Just ask Trent Lott, he was cheerleading the charge, remember?

Ya I got that message in high school. I ignored it, along with attendant messages, and in the meantime had a blast. Somehow most of us survived it all. We are still here after all!

I like Hannity. When he said that tonight, I hoped that I heard him wrong.
This is a sad day for FR. And, its a wake-up call for all of us to do some soul searching for what cause we are serve with our posts here on Free Republic.
Fellow Freepers, lets keep it the best site on the Internet.
To: Texasforever
Well, I know that it's an actual law, because my good friend's dad told me, and he's a judge.
To: Torie
I mainly adhere to sexual abstinence for religious reasons and I believe that God made those rules with our best interest in mind.
It's just one of my convictions and the way of life that gives me peace.

So Rush Limbaugh became a VERY RICH man taking on Clinton and is still around, albeit struggling with how to keep his audience stirred up, was at Risk too? Damn give me that risk any day. How is a minor columnist/attorney more at "risk" than a man that had millions of listeners? I was audited twice in the 90s and I was an outspoken critic of Clinton. Connect the dots.
To: FreedominJesusChrist
I don't quarrel with that. It is just that in my opinion, human beings are resilient, and there are many paths one can take, and still find success and happiness in a way consistent with being a reasonably decent person. In that sense, maybe I am a hopeless liberal.
