Seven people were killed and at least 20 people were injured when an explosive device was detonated and shots were fired Tuesday afternoon near a bus close to the West Bank settlement of Immanuel.
Magen David Adom officials reported that eight people were in serious condition.
"A roadside device detonated as a bus was passing near the Immanuel settlement, and shooting then followed," said police spokesman Rafi Yaffe.
According to initial reports, the bus was first hit by several roadside devices, and passengers were then fired on as they left the vehicle. The terrorists who fired on the bus were dressed in IDF uniforms.
Channel Two television said that the injured were not only from the bus, but from a vehicle that was driving ahead of it.
The attack took place shortly after 3 P.M., south-west of the West Bank city of Nablus.
The bus attacked was No. 189, and was operating in conjunction with the Dan company. The bus departed from the ultra-Orthodox neighborhood of Bnei Brak, near Tel Aviv, at around 2.15 P.M.
The injured were taken to Beilinson Hospital in Petah Tikva, Tel Hashomer in Tel Aviv and Meir in Kfar Sava.
The attack was similar to an ambush on a bus outside Immanuel on December 12 last year in which 10 people were killed.

Works for me, Dennis.

So that's why Bill Clinton supported the Pallies so much!
I know. That is why I knew President Bush's offer would be rejected by the terrorists. The propaganda they preach to justify murder IS what the West has come to believe after all these decades. Odds are that even some Palestinians might believe it by now. The president called them on it by making the offer...in addition, any Palestinians who REALLY wanted freedom, an economy and a normal job.... REAL, NORMAL LIFE.... have the option of taking him up on it and achieving that dream, if they wish. Sadly, few have.
I say we hold the Rock hostage. We go in, we TAKE the thing...and we stick it inside the case of a specially fitted, active nuke. We build a temple in some more or less neutral spot that the Muslims can identify with....the middle of the Shahara. We build a HUGE fortress, with Gulag-like security, around the temple. That way, they can visit it whever they wish, IF they behave themselves.
If they DON'T behave themselves....if there is one more act of terrorism committed by any Muslim anywhere...NO MORE PRAYING TO ROCKS AT BEDTIME, BECAUSE THE ROCK IS NOT EVEN MOLECULES ANYMORE.
Nah, probably won't work. Nice thought though...for a few glorious minutes....
Or to quote Mark Steyn, a religion of piece - a piece of your enemy here, a piece of your enemy there.
Then that guy knows squat. For years guest workers- mostly Thai and Romanian- have been working in increasing numbers in Israel. There will always be sources of willing workers who have the extra advantage that when they get angry and blow up at the boss do not do so literally.
In fact the opposite is true. Without Israel's strong market economy, the Pals are doing a gainer into deep penury that the UN and Arab blood largress can not puull them out of.
...Good thing Saddam, Saudi Arabia and Lebanon are supporting them, or the rest of the world might think there's a problem with the Pali government.
The Palis have another industry that no one has mentioned on this thread...they produce mass quantities of homocide bombers which the above three countries pay big bucks for. Otherwise, many Pali families would have no income to spend on "bread."
Palestinian gunmen killed seven Israelis and wounded at least 19 in an attack on a bus near a Jewish settlement in the northern West Bank yesterday, the Israeli army said. Israeli security officials said roadside bombs were detonated under the bullet-proof bus, after which Palestinian snipers perched on a nearby hill opened fire on fleeing passengers and people in other cars. Are you sure about that? I don't know. I go to a large carwash on L.A.'s westside. Lots of whites (and an occassional black) sitting in the shady waiting area, talking on cell phones, lazily watching dozens of Latinos washing cars under the sun. Not a job that I, or any of the other westsiders, would want. I'm not even sure if their kids would want it.
Liberal crap? Even National Review's Rob Long (who lives in L.A.) said that L.A. could not survive without its Mexican labor force.
I know about them (I thought there were more Philipinos?). The Jerusalem Report ran a story on them last winter. I think it said there were several hundred thousand (300,000?) Asian guest workers. And that many of them (and some Israeli activists) felt the guest workers were being exploited, and were trying to organize them into unions. And that some guest workers might want full rights, such as citizenship, which worries Israelis who want to maintain Israel's Jewish majority.
I thought the parallels to the US -- a third world labor force vs. Jewish "Buchananites" (my term) -- was ironic.
I guess the Jerusalem Report is "liberal," but it often has interesting articles on topics not covered in the US.
I'll bet similar arguments were used to defend slavery.
Maybe if the supply of cheap illegal labor dried up, employers might have to pay more. Heck, if they paid enough, I'd wash cars.
If that makes car-washing expensive, then it would pay for someone to invent a better way to wash cars--or invent a paint or coating that when applied to cars, would make cars self-cleaning.
But we'll never know because why bother inventing anything when we can have economic slavery instead.
Interesting observation. A few of those Russians may not even be ethnic Jews. I've a friend who teaches immigrants in NY. Mainly Chinese, with many Russian Jews, and a few Latinos and Haitians.
My friend was surprised to learn that one of his Russian students was a gentile (they're that rare). The student confessed that he pretended to be Jewish, because it easier to immigrate that way. (The US extends "refugee status" to Jews, Baptists, and Jehovah's Witnesses, so there's no waiting list, and they immeadiately qualify for SSI and food stamps -- a relic policy leftoever from the Cold War).
I wonder how many Russians pretend to be Jewish to get into the US or Israel?
Immigrants from all nations claim to be persecuted, whether true or not, to get into Europe and the US. Immigration policy throughout the world is messy and corrupt.
