Yesterday in the 105 degree heat (which seemed cool in comparison to Friday's 109 degrees which was a scorcher) fifty FReepers and family got together at Woodward Park in Fresno, California for a "tailgate" picnic dinner and fun!

- Amerigomag
- BadJoe
- BobJ
- Brock
- COB1
- Chadsworth
- Clovis Skeptic (and his wife and daughter)
- Cool Guy

- DoughtyOne (and his wife)
- FriendAnn
- Gracie1 (and her husband and son)
- Java Man
- Jim Robinson (and Sheila and Chris)
- JKPhoto
- John Robinson
- JustAmy (and her husband and son)
- Lager (and his daugher and granddaughter)
- Ladyinred
- Maccabee-AJB
- Mama_Bear
- Mtngrl@vrwc (and daughter)
- Notpoliticallycorewrecked (and her husband and two sons)
- Saundra Duffy
- Senorita (and her husband)
- SiFiPattie (and her dad and a family friend, Chris)
- Tami
I hope that I haven't left anybody out, but if I did, please forgive me AND SET ME STRAIGHT! LOL!
To sum it all up, we had a great time! A fabulous time! It couldn't have been better! We visited until the food was ready to eat, Saundra Duffy presented an award that was signed by Mike Briggs to Jim Robinson for his contributions to uniting conservatives and giving us a forum to discuss and promote our cause, we said the Pledge of Allegiance and a prayer before eating, we had the most FANTASTIC meal imaginable, we played water games (hm...should I call it that?), and we played this "game" where we took turns telling a little about ourselves and then picking a slip of paper and talking about or doing what was written on it. After all of that, several door prizes were given away.
I am just summing up here you guys. The bottom line was that we had a blast! I hope that each and every one who was there will post some of their memories of what took place at our tailgate picnic yesterday.
A special thanks need to be given to JustAmy and Mama_Bear for their tireless efforts in coordinating the picnic. JKPhoto also has to be thanked for barbecuing the meat. It was perfect! I would like to thank Senorita for being in charge of the door prizes. I just know I am forgetting somebody...I hope not though!
I would like to also thank COB1 for coming here from Texas to be at our tailgate party! That's a long way to come to spend time with little old us! Several FReepers came from the Los Angeles area and from Modesto and San Jose too. You are all wonderful for making this special effort! THANKS!

It was so fun meeting you yesterday! I love your freepname! So, tell us, how much of that recipe did your hubby get out of JkPhoto eh? Care to share? :)
Please know that my prayers are with you and hubby for his complete recovery. Did you add him to the prayer thread on FR?

Thanks for the pics JustAmy!!! It looks like it was a GREAT time. What time of year will it be for the Monterey one? Closer yet.. and probably more "do-able" for us.
Great pics!! I see Badjoe had his wonderful CHAIR there. He didn't have to fight people over sitting on it, huh? I was suprized!! :o)
BIG OLE BUMP!!! For the best Californians!!

The pistols weren't my idea...although next time we should upgrade to super-soakers(**whispering**)I think we all should get super-soakers and NOT tell Cool Guy. ;-)
To: mtngrl@vrwc
Whispering real loud. I have been plotting revenge on Cool Guy all day! We have to think of something scathingly brilliant to do to him next time, doncha think?
And then there is the little matter of a pretty girl who lives in the mountains and attacked me with a little orange squirtgun too!

The picnic was held at Woodward Park, which is in NW Fresno. I don't recall how long the park has been there, but it is just lovely with ponds and ducks and a really nice Japanese Garden area.

My family and I had a great time yesterday at the picnic. We all had fun!!! Thanks to coolguy, for bringing the squirtguns, that was refreshing. Too bad I missed coolguy dumping the tub of icewater on Chadsworth. (First rinse he's had in awhile).

Hello tubebender
I don't think Woodward Park was here when you were. Next time we will not have the picnic in July or August unless it is either in Monterey or Oregon. The heat just about did me end and I should be used to it. But then, usually I'm sane enough to stay inside on that type of day.
I just realized you are not on my ping list. Well, you have now been added.

It was hot, and I am used to it, but going to Monterey sounds great to me! Of course, I would probably be too cold over there! LOL Never satisfied are we?
Enjoyed your list of You know you are in Fresno! Isn't that the truth!
To: mtngrl@vrwc
No problem. I probably didn't get pictures of everyone either. Yours were great.

Too bad I missed coolguy dumping the tub of icewater on Chadsworth. (First rinse he's had in awhile). LOL! Now now now, you know he gets in the pool daily! Why some Saturday's he even takes his LAVA bar into it if he knows I am not looking! What can we expect from a Texan?
To: Saundra Duffy
I was busy at a quilt show in Sisters Oregon. May I be excused?

Thanks for the ping. I was out of town and couldn't make it. Nice to at least see the pictures.

My brother lives in North West Fresno (west of 99) near Shields. My sister lives near Sandra Dufffy south of Fresno. I'll let you know when I come down next.

There is a saying, "Revenge is served best cold", or something like that :P.
I am listening to everything and hopefully will be prepared next time :).

Is the one who live near Bowles also the one who lives near Saundra Duffy? (or did you forget a sister)?

(First rinse he's had in awhile). Somehow, I knew I was doing the social service when I dumped it on him. The squirt guns were provided by "just amy", "mtngrl@vrwc", "senorita" and a few other local Fresno Freepers. I just filled it up and distributed it. It was my pleasure meeting y'awl.

Can't put anything over on the gals from Fresno. Yes this is the sister near Bowles. BTW...What is the street Woodward park is on.
