Hi Guys [& Gals].

I would like to request prayer for my stepfather.

He was shot Friday.

He took a 9mm hollowpoint to the lower chest on his right side. The round is either lodged between two vertebrates or it is sitting close to a disk, the Doctors have run two separate CT scans and arent quite sure at this point where exactly the bullet is located.

He has been kept in a semi-coma in order to prevent him from moving around. This has brought on Neumonia [sp?] and currently his temperature is at 103.

His name is Gary L. Casserly and he is in the Neuro-trama unit at Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

I would greatly covet prayers on his behalf dealing with complete recovery, the neumonia and any complications brought about by his being immobile and also prayer for the Lord to heal whatever [if any] damage has been done to his spinal cord or any nerve damage.

Godly Wisdom as well as discernment for all of the Hospital staff who come in contact with him regardless of their job or specialty.

Some of you can simply come in agreement with me but the true intercessors can hit whatever the Lord wants you to cover.

I have two younger Sisters and a younger Brother as well as my Mother that I would like you to also cover.

The Doctors have already started in with their doom & gloom scenarios. I am not moved by them but other Family members could be.

Lord, I ask that you please look after Gary, his family and all who love him. I also ask Lord, that you give all the doctors that are involved in caring for Gary, the wisdom and skill needed to put him on the road to complete recovery. I pray these things in Jesus name...Amen.

VaBthang4, Ask your family to keep a positive frame of mind no matter what the doctors tell them. I would not be typing this message today if my parents believed what the doctors told them.

I have CP and the doctors told my parents that I most likely would not survive, and that if I did there was NO WAY I could function as a "normal child". I thank the Lord every day that my parents didn't listen to those doctors. That was over 40 years ago, and I'm still going strong!!

Medicine has changed drastically since that time, but the fact remains, that doctors are only human, and they DO NOT know everything. Doctors can tell you what they THINK will happen, but God is the ONLY one that KNOWS what will happen.

Ask your family to put their faith and trust in the Lord, and let him bring you all through this.

Father, I lift up Gary. Touch his mind, that he may see You. Touch his lungs, that he may breath deeply and well. And now I lift the bullet to You, that You may surround it and protect all the tissues and nerves it touches; that You will remove this danger from Gary's body, and heal him. Let a sign be given that the doctors, nurses, and Gary's family may know that You are healing Gary.

I come to You not because I am special, or faithful, or holy. I come to You because You told me to pray. I pray, Father, please let us hear You even as You hear our prayer. But no matter what may come, should life or death unfold, we are Your grateful children, grateful for the beauty of life and Your love that made Gary. You are God. We thank You in Jesus name.

I have the impression that this is not unto death. . . that he will recover and give some great glory to God. . . and be much used in doing so. . . and that in his coma, he's getting some good stuff in the spiritual realm.
