D.C. police searching unsuccessfully in Rock Creek Park over the weekend for more remains and belongings of Chandra Levy instead came across some money believed to be from a bank robbery in the District last week, authorities said.

The bills, discovered Saturday in the general vicinity of the search site, had red dye on them. Banks often give robbers money with dye packs, which explode and color the cash red.

"Authorities said only a few bills were recovered."

The rest was appropiated for the, uh...... Donut fund?

"We have no idea how it ended up there," Murray said.

This is entering the Twilight Zone. Could someone be trying to confuse everyone?

Actually, I think it more probable that it came out of the donut fund.

You are right, someone is trying to confuse us and MetroDC PD is a lot further along than the rest of us.

The election of the Clintons was evidence we passed into a weird time warp of some kind.

The Red-Faces on these guys could be explained because they were washing the red-dye off the stolen money.

"I see dead people, only they don't know they're dead."

Truth is we all died and are in purgatory. The election of Bush for President indicates our sentence may be up soon and we'll be let out on parole.

If anyone doubts that Adam and Eve were thrown out of paradise into a sinful and insane world of their own making, then they just need to read a history book followed by newspaper archives of the last ten years...

It sure is starting to look like some very powerful people are sending a message.

Even the dc cops can not be as inept as they are starting to look. By now you would think they would have RCP under some kind of stake-out.

OTOH, a pool could be started to see what lost item will turn up next in a park that is daily in the national spotlight.(my guess is next week they find DB Cooper wandering in the brush.)

Ten to one it will be the missing bullet from the Vince Foster murder / suicide.

If the cops keep looking, there is still hope to find the 700 FBI files .

The DC police report that private parties searching the park area found several human bones, blood-stained clothes, an abandoned automobile, six hand-guns, a knife, two assault rifles, a box cutter, a wallet, a used condom, a "This is Condit Country" campaign flyer, an address book, an envelope of anthrax, Levy's ring and keys, photos, a stack of marked bills, a videotape, a signed confession, and other seemingly important items. However, the police reaffirmed that "these are not clues at this time" and that they "didn't know how these items got here".

In a formal statement to the media, the police said: "Oops! Guess we missed a few things when we searched the area the first couple times for, uh... what was her name again?" When asked about how this reflects on the DC police, a spokeswoman said, "We have not determined what has happened, or if a mistake was made, but an internal review may be started."

Congressman Gary Condit (D-CA) was also seen in the park yesterday. He was jumping up and down and waving his hands frantically while shouting "over here, I did it, I did it." Eventually he was asked to leave by police community-service personnel. In a televised interview, a police spokesman said, "Mr. Condit, who is not a suspect at this time, was attracting a lot of media attention. He was asked to exit the area for his own personal safety and to preserve the integrity of a crime scene. Besides, we can't waste our time babysitting media celebrity has-beens when we're looking for donuts uh, ... a killer."

This park must be one awsome place to hold a scavenger hunt.

Police plan to resume the search today, aided by police recruits.

Sheesh! When are these guys going to take this case seriously?
