That ANSWER rally was sponsered by the same people who sponsored the one last fall. At that rally the Democrats were pleased as punch to get up there and make a--es out of themselves. Yesterday I heard on Fox News (unless I heard wrong) that America sends what amounts to ten million dollars A DAY to Israel. Does anyone know if this could be true, and if it is, why would we have to send so much to ANY COUNTRY?

I need to remind you that much of the money comes back to the U.S. in the form of purchases. A minor but important fact to mention.

The most important fact is that they would not be the military power that they are, without the money. However it is a huge drain on our resources.

Welfare lobbies use some of the money given to them to lobby for more welfare. They also find that it is in their best interest not to end problems because that means the money dries up. Before anyone says "Egypt does it too!" let me say, "Yes, Egypt does it too..but that doesn't mean it is good for America."

I heard - on Rush I think and other media - that the Israelies are required BY LAW that they have to use a great deal of that $$ to buy goods etc., from the USA. Not a bad deal for us I'd say.

Janet it may or may not be accurate. Don't go by that crowd to confirm it. In my opinion we pay out too much to Israel. I believe that a lot of it is in military aide. I may be wrong. At some point Israel should be able to stand on it's own two feet. But then I doubt any nation the size of Israel could mount a proper defense in light of what Israel has to face at all times.

That money that comes back to the US is a very important part of that aid. I would venture to state that most of that money never leaves the US. It buys merchandise here for use in Israel. Therefore it actually serves to spur our own economy here, not that that's the best way to accomplish that. But it's not quite as bleak a picture as one might think.
