That money that comes back to the US is a very important part of that aid. I would venture to state that most of that money never leaves the US. It buys merchandise here for use in Israel. Therefore it actually serves to spur our own economy here, not that that's the best way to accomplish that. But it's not quite as bleak a picture as one might think.

Therefore it actually serves to spur our own economy here, So let's invite 10 million foreigners to come visit the US, and give each one $100,000 grant -- provided they spend it here. That'd spur our economy, no?
This "logic" is one used by socialists for ALL entitlement programs. Welfare is good because it "spurs the economy." Of course, no conservative would accept such "logic" in most cases.
