Yesterday I heard on Fox News (unless I heard wrong) that America sends what amounts to ten million dollars A DAY to Israel. Does anyone know if this could be true, and if it is, why would we have to send so much to ANY COUNTRY?

I need to remind you that much of the money comes back to the U.S. in the form of purchases. A minor but important fact to mention.

The most important fact is that they would not be the military power that they are, without the money. However it is a huge drain on our resources.

Welfare lobbies use some of the money given to them to lobby for more welfare. They also find that it is in their best interest not to end problems because that means the money dries up. Before anyone says "Egypt does it too!" let me say, "Yes, Egypt does it too..but that doesn't mean it is good for America."

Janet it may or may not be accurate. Don't go by that crowd to confirm it. In my opinion we pay out too much to Israel. I believe that a lot of it is in military aide. I may be wrong. At some point Israel should be able to stand on it's own two feet. But then I doubt any nation the size of Israel could mount a proper defense in light of what Israel has to face at all times.

In general, I am opposed to all foreign aid. I will, however, point this out: Isreal is the only country to which we have given foreign aid that shows any appreciation for it, or which can be counted on as an ally. At this point I am ready to strip Egypt, Jordan, the Palis and any other nation/group who has not stepped up the plate and strip them of their aid for the sole purpose of giving it to the Isrealis. IMHO!
