This special little ad -
appears in the April edition of "Working Mother" magazine, and probably a lot of other places. I saw it whilst flipping through the magazine at the optometrist's office.
The small print makes it "clear" that if your child visits another child whose family owns Evil Guns, they are at great risk. The little girl looks like she's been beaten, and she's "dressed appropriately" in body armor for visiting those friends whose family owns guns.
This blatant and disgusting propaganda is sponsored by Asking Saves Kids You might want to visit their website and/or email them at staff@paxusa.com or staff@pax.com. You can call them at 212-983-8705.
This is pathetic.

"Over 40% of homes with children have a gun." The better to protect the children, I say.
To: Jefferson Adams
I get the feeling that the only reason why they really want the kids to ask is to turn them into neighborhood informants. Same thing they're doing with doctors.

You'd be better off asking if they have any 5 gallon buckets than guns. Far more more children drown in those than are killed by gun accidents.

When I asked her what she would do if some bad guy threatened her or her kids, she says her dog would protect her.In which case the "proper attire" would be a body bag.

I haven't used the "bang_list" before - how do I know who's on it, etc.? Did any of you get flagged by my using it? The "bang_list" isn't a predefined group of FReepers, at least, not that I know if. It's a keyword that connects to a specific subgroup on FreeRepublic that anyone can point their browser to using the following URL:

Hey, a question for you all - I haven't used the "bang_list" before - how do I know who's on it, etc.? Did any of you get flagged by my using it? You might want to be careful with that 'bang list', Mr. Adams...there's a LOT of those "right-wing extremist, pro second amendment, Christian-type WEIRDOS" on there! :-) Not sure how that 'list' thingie works myself; perhaps Anna or Merc can help you out.

From a magazine who's title harkens back to China's "Workers Daily" you were expecting rightous conservatism???

I get the feeling that the only reason why they really want the kids to ask is to turn them into neighborhood informants. Same thing they're doing with doctors. BINGO!!! Thanks to subtle little propaganda like this ad; when it comes time to confiscate the guns, YOUR neighbors will know right where they are! Think there will be a reward?

When "little Johnny's" parents get too nosey, ask...
"Have you put little Johnny through a program like the NRA's Eddie Eagle course? No? Gee, I'm sorry Mr. and Mrs. Nosey, but your little Johnny isn't allowed to play at our house until I know that he's been properly educated. I know that this will upset him, but I can't let your child endanger mine. Since you love your child, you understand, don't you?"

This is funny. I have a friend who says she won't let her kids play at our house because I have a shotgun. When I asked her what she would do if some bad guy threatened her or her kids, she says her dog would protect her.Oh, so she has an ADMITTEDLY dangerous dog???
I would not let my child play there until the Assault Dog has been removed.
Turnabout and all....

This ad brought to you by the people who handed out the candles used to burn down Woodstock '99.

Any reference to "working" mothers, families, etc., is code for DNC and the Clintons.

Shoot with your kids - teach 'em right. My daughtest shot a .45 this weekend and loved it.
More children were accidentally killed by drowning in 2000 than by guns. Shouldn't they should walk around in life-preservers instead?
