Wow! What a change from this a.m.! It is bee-u-ti-ful. I can actually read the sidebars with my scratched-up, $9.99 Long's Drugs, non-prescription ++2.00 reading glasses.
Thanks to everyone involved for all the work.
This is the life. FR, British Comedy on T.V. and a beer in a frosted mug.
All is right with the world for the next 20 minutes.

MUCH better! The flag is gone. I can read the stuff! NOW I'll be able to enjoy all the changes!

Hey Jim, it's your show. Do what you want. After all the "Oohing and Aahhing" and moaning and groaning is gone, it's still Free Republic. The best web site for conservative discussion around. Great job. Thumbs up from BigBlueJon.

If I may ask a few of you that pushed for the bigger font in the main pages...
I am confused about those that think the font was too small the way it was this morning, when it was the same size as the fonts within the threads still are now. Are the fonts in THIS window hard to read?
I could adjust the font size with my browser, if it was all the same, but now the font in the Latest Posts page looks awfully big in order for the threads to remain a readable size.

The font looked smaller this afternoon, and hard for me to read. A difference in my browser? I'm not sure, but yes, it looks bigger/clearer to me now.

Giving Away Free Samples of Our Life Enhancing Non-Surgical "Face Lift in a BottleI'll take $100 worth.
Especially if it does even a fraction of what FR has done for me. Thanks.
And I like the FR facelift---once I realized it was still the same "home."

LOL, Love the email you got. hahahaahahaha
You both are trying to always make it better for everyone.I appreciate it very much.
Thank you for all you do.

You've already got the "best of show" and "People's Choice" site. Thousands of decent folk benefit from your efforts. The usual whining suspects can safely be ignored - some people aren't happy unless they're unhappy. Thanks and FReegards.

I see FR changed again while I was sleeping. If they keep improving it, it will evolve back to what it used to be and everybody will be happy. Thanks for the ping.

BUMP
For the early morning risers
FYI: the "non surgical facelift" is actually Preparation H. It's an old beauty trick to get rid of wrinkles.

"I am confused about those that think the font was too small the way it was this morning, when it was the same size as the fonts within the threads still are now. Are the fonts in THIS window hard to read?"I don't know why it easier to read the sidebars if I didn't have trouble with the same font size in the threads. It might have to do with background, placement on the page, how the eyes move when reading, etc. I can just tell you that the sidebars were hard to read in the a.m., and when they were changed (including larger, bolder titles) it became a breeze just to glance over and see something right away. Don't know why it is. It just is. !!!!
