ROME, March 27 The United States warned its citizens Wednesday that they could be targeted by extremist groups in four Italian cities on Easter Sunday, March 31.
THE U.S. EMBASSY in Italy said the cities at risk were Venice, Florence, Milan and Verona.
THE U.S. EMBASSY in Italy said the cities at risk were Venice, Florence, Milan and Verona. The embassy said in a statement that the U.S. government had received credible reports that extremists were planning terrorist actions. These (extremist) groups do not distinguish between official and civilian targets, the embassy said. Among possible targets mentioned were places of worship, restaurants, schools and outdoor events.
The embassy did not specify which extremist groups might be involved, but warned that Americans should increase their security awareness and avoid large crowds. An anonymous U.S. official said the warning was based on information developed in cooperation with Italian authorities. Italian anti-terrorism officials refused to comment. Earlier this month, the United States warned that extremists were planning terrorist actions against American interests. That warning was issued after the March 17 attack on worshippers at a Christian church near the U.S. Embassy in Islamabad, Pakistan. Two Americans and three other people died in the attack.

I must say that if they attack on Easter, the only respectable thing for a Christian to do is to go on a literal crusade, and drive away the infidel

Italian police WILL profile for the greater good.

It appears a religious world war may come sooner than later and we (USA) will be the main target.

I think that a religious war may come sooner than later. They (Muslims) continue to raise the ante. Are we ready to answer? Eventually, the call for tolerance will evaporate and all hell will break loose.

Well, I nominate Mecca, Medena, and the mosque on temple mount as the first set of targets if we have to go after "cultural" targets. mudslims have gone after Jewish families at Temple for Passover! (I couldn't believe that the US media was whinning for a stop to Bombing during Ramadingdong!)

Italy. Last I heard, the Vatican was near there. The terrorists wouldn't hit a religious target on a sacred holiday, would they? I didn't think so......

The Muslims love to attack on religous holidays. Stay safe this Easter.

After all --- most of us KNOW, this is a war between religions... The muslims have declared war against all non muslims.. It's as plain as the nose on Arafat's ugly murderous lying face.
"Islam is a religion of peace" --- bull shit.
It is clearly a backward looking murderous cult.

Hmmm. US military base in the vicinity of Verona and Venice. It would be a target rich environment from the terrorist's perspective.

You've got that right! It seems every western ideal, be it cultural or religious is fair game for attack and is tolerated because we need to understand their rage. But lay a hand on an Islamic holy place or badmouth Muslims and you're considered a hater. They can call me what they like but I say they need a taste of their own medicine.
