Two things:
1. I think the original Hispanic language for North America should be reimposed on all Latinos before they are allowed to get a permanent visa to stay here. BTW, it's not Spanish.
2. These guys are illegal. They should be shown only the common courtesy of guiding them to the door.

I agree that illegal immigration should be stopped but it's funny how some of the people here on FR love to Bash hispanics in general and throw them all in one bag with the illegals. Those ancestors of yours, the italians, irish, germans, ect.. that all lived in little communities and talked their language, and arrived here in boats with their food (pizza, ect..), and had their little flags from their original countries on their windows, and brought over their original music and were cosidered "pigs" and are rolling in their grave. You people are here because of these "immigrants" and i would bet my life not all of them came 100% legally.

the right to be treated in a human way The idiot writing the article should be concerned with how they are treated in their own country. They aren't citizens here and the only right they have is to be sent back home.

To: boston_liberty "Mexico is an incredibly important part of the futuro de los Estados Unidos.{what does this translate to? The future land united?} (Applause.) And the border, la frontera,{What does this mean? the border is not a frontier, it is a line you don't cross without an invitation} is a very important part of our relationship. It is essential that Americans understand the nature of this border.
I think it is rather he that needs to understand the nature of what a border is, and someone should take the time to clue him in on the meaning of sovereignty. Natural born Americans have a right, duty, and obligation to say enough and pull up the welcome mat.
We have a right to say no to being ripped off to pay for services for illegals and immigrants, we have a right to reject having to take up their tax burden slack, given their pitiful third world wages, having our votes negated, having our homeland Balkanized or turned into a third world flop house by people who have no desire to become American, and leaving our children to the whim of a majority that has no history here, or that has no liking, much less an understanding, of our Constitution.
Guns and who enters our home are not two issues to be yanked from our perrogative by silver tongued PC peddlers. Calling us names, nor slick speeches is going to do one single thing to change our minds about our God given right to protect ourselves on both fronts.
I like Mexicans, I have nothing against limited immigration. I have nothing against building the economy of Mexico within the limits of strictly controlled foreign aid. What I do not like is the attempt being made to make us feel that we all washed ashore last week with the rest of the newly arrived immigrants.
I am not an immigrant nor are we a nation of immigrants. Many of us stopped being immigrants about five generations back. We are educated, we have an obligation to future generations to guard the Bill of Rights and not risk leaving it in the hands of a uneducated majority third world population. I do not like the education that makes children believe that mean old European slave owners founded the nation, died out, left no offspring, left nothing worth talking about, there is no national culture here that might be better than the culture back in the motherland, and we all just arrived last week.
If the presence of terrorist in our midsts does not clue someone in to the fact that we are not a nation united but rather a nation that has not acted responsibly about who we leave the future of freedom to I have no idea what will.

If Bush and Rove weren't flat liners they would understand they are getting no more credit from latinos than the U.S. got from Kuwait or Bosnia!

What? One of my ancestors discovered the island of Puerto Rico in 1493. A number of others began the first serious Huguenot forays into North America in 1541. It's taken us over 100 years to find their traces.
We are not the descendants of immigrant settlers, but rather explorers.
Lots of difference!

So if a Mexican crossing the border finds an empty abandoned house in the border with Arizona to live in, is he an explorer and not an illegal immigrant anymore? LOL

A news report early this morning indicated that Senator Byrd had stopped this bill in committee...so it may never get to the floor with the amnesty provision. Kudos for Senator Byrd if he does stop this provision.
GWB doesn't seem to realize his pushing amnesty, considering the recent events and attitudes, is costing him more votes than he's gaining. Most non-scientific polls I've seen are running 80%+ AGAINST granting amnesty.

Excellent. I would expect more from you given what your screen name implies or implied.

No, that Mexican is still an illegal. Besides, there are NO vacant houses on that border.

I agree that illegal immigration should be stopped but it's funny how some of the people here on FR love to Bash hispanics in general and throw them all in one bagwith the illegals.Let's run a little test okay. We send all the illegals home and I'll join you in stomping every negative comment regarding hispanics among us.
That'll take about thirty seconds the first year and zero from then on out.
With upwards of eleven million illegal immigrants among us, I'm willing to cut Freepers some slack if they don't turn a phrase just right, or use the wrong word once in a while. Those who have been affected adversely do to this situation have a right to vent. Still, if I find someone trashing Hispanics in general I try to speak up about it. But it doesn't happen all that often as you well know.
To: muawiyah
Well, I'm only part immigrant. Some of my ancestors were of the Cherokee Nation; in fact, I just checked and I qualify to become a tribal member. Maybe you 100% immigrants should go back to your homelands. ;^)
To: AmericanInTokyo
Exactly! NONSENSE Then you get the mentally challenged on this forum who defend those who break our nation's laws and act as if anyone who spoke against their acts was racist.
Honestly, the plants grow stronger every day.
To: DoughtyOne
I'm not speaking about not talking trash about Hispanics, I am the first one to point out some crap we do in this country, I am sick and tired of political correctness. What I am saying is that I hate hypocrisy. ALL of us here are immigrants, even the Native Americans that found this country. Some people think they are somehow more American than an immigrant that comes here Legally and becomes an American citizen. I also think it's funny how most of the people that bash "illegals" are the first ones to hire them to do their weeds or eat their hand-picked fruits. Believe me, Illegal immigration should be stopped but to say that you can somehow find all of them after they were able to beat the INS and ship them out is ridiculous. Beef up the INS and stop them from getting here rather than letting them get in and get established and then kicking them out. So let's stop illegal immigration and get ready to pick your own grapes and do your own front lawn, it's gonna get lonely here on FR, lol
To: StopDemocratsDotCom
Here is another example that this new extention is NOT an amnesty that will grant legal status to "millions" of Illegals: Among them, Jose Pertierra express that the measure might not benefit certain interested, since it only includes people who have presented/displayed their request of residence before August 14, 2001", this means that just a couple hundred thousand will be affected. If "Jose Pertierra" is not happy with this law than I can confirm it's not the law that will bring Death to the West!, LOL. These guy is a Cuban-American liberal sumb-bag lawyer that wants open borders and wants full relations with Castro. Now there's one immigrant I want to ship home today! LOL

There is a distinct difference between those who came here when there was nothing but forest, plains, buffalo, and the occasional indigenous tribe, and those who arrived to find the infrastructure in place, a hospital to birth the anchor baby, and a supermarket down the street. Pioneers built the country, legal immigrants filled it out, and illegal immigrants threaten to rip it apart.

The racist tag to shut off legitimate debate is an old trick. The college liberals in favor of African-American reparations currently are doing it against David Horowitz, forbidding him from speaking to student bodies and tainting him as a 'racist'.
That tactic is not limited to socialists and Liberal Democrats. Even within the GOP, some RINOs who support Bush regardless of the issue or the general negative impact on the country, will occaisionally vomit this venomous nonsense on Patriots. Shame on them.
A good fictional vignette to recall was from "Rising Sun", later made into a movie w/ Sean Connery and Wesley Snipes. Some LA policemen were so afraid about going after underground Japanese yakuza crime or speaking up against unfair trading practices, because they would risk being called 'racist' by the LA Times and promoting an internal police investigation. Being called a racist for opposing crime.
It's an old outdated movie now, but the principles at work are the same.
By the way, folks, sorry for some of the typos above on the article. There are by the way more candid articles in Spanish which definitely show that while 245(i) is not EVERYTHING the illegals and their spokespeople want, they do support it as a positive movement forward. I think the editorial's title in Spanish said it all: "Buena noticia para latinos: Extencion de la 245(i)"
