Just announced 5 more NYFD discovered in the rubble.
100 Firefighters will line up on the conrete ramp in honor of the dead, more bodies expected to be found under the supports.
They are ahead of schedule I heard it might be June before they are done.
They think at last 500 people were vaporized on the upper floors from the jet fuel.
Here is another article that tells you how many firemen they found already:
Bodies of five firefighters found at WTC site
(New York-AP) -- The bodies of five firefighters were pulled from the rubble of the World Trade Center today. Workers have been finding pockets of human remains in this last stage of the recovery effort. The bodies, draped in American flags, were pulled from an area where the south tower once stood. About 100 firefighters lined up along a 500-foot-long ramp, which is used by trucks to enter the site, and saluted as the bodies were carried to an ambulance.
Three of the bodies were pulled from the wreckage this morning, followed by the discoveries of two more around mid-day. As of last week, the bodies of 148 firefighters had been pulled from the rubble - fewer than half of the 343 who died on September Eleventh. Recovery crews are finding more human remains as they dip into the last mountain of debris at the World Trade Center site. The last few weeks of the cleanup will focus on a heap that used to be part of the south tower. The top of the six-story pile is at ground level. The bottom is at what used to be the lowest basement level of the south tower.
They are ahead of schedule I heard it might be June before they are done.
I am guessing they will start building then.
Maybe ......
The last report I have says "An additional 1,940 death certificates have been issued without a body, at the request of victims' families."
No way. First there is going to be the mother of all brouhahas over what is going to be there. I just can't believe that they'll be able to just start building something this summer.
Not all of a body is reduced to ash. It appears the grim part is just ahead, that is finds of several hundred remains concentrated in pockets of the remaining debris.
I think they are going to have the victims families help in the decision. (I hope so)
The problem is that the victims families are no more united on the proper building than the rest of the nation.
They run the gamut from the tomb-like, business-free park to the bigger than before crowd.
The remaining pile is just not very big. I'm not optimistic.
