Way too many vanity threads lately. And way too much trash being posted. Please try to stay on topic (politics). Also, please do a search on a significant word from the title of your article before posting. This will reduce the number of duplicates. And, along these same lines, please use the original titles on your article posts. Do NOT edit the titles. Do NOT use "My Title" titles. This will also help to reduce the number of duplicates.
And, whatever else you do, please DO NOT post from DEMOCRATS UNDERGROUND (or any other such trashy un-American socialist hangout). Free Republic was intended to be a socialist free zone. We've gone to a heck of a lot of trouble to make it that way. Why in the world would you think we would be interested in having their trash posted here?
And QUIT trashing each other. You know who you are. Knock it off! Way too many flamewars and feuds going on. And, while I'm thinking about it, QUIT trashing our conservative candidates. If you want to criticize someone's position on some policy, have at it. But do not trash or smear the man. That would include Browne, Buchanan, Bush, Keyes, et al, or whomever else may be your favorite trashee (examples listed in alphabetical sequence). The idea is to get more conservatives elected, not to trash the ones you don't like. If you want to trash someone, make it a Democrat. Thank you.
And QUIT dredging up old communist propaganda to smear our conservatives. Sheesh! Whatever else you may think about our guys, they did not hijack airliners full of people and crash them into buildings. No, my friends, not even the dreaded CIA. Anyone who would believe (or even suspect) that crap is no FReeper. I've been pulling this crap whenever I see it and several people have been banned for continuing to post it. I do not want it on Free Republic. Any current FR poster who believes this leftist propaganda, please logoff immediately, send me your resignation via email, and I will delete your account.
Thanks,
Jim

And, while I'm thinking about it, QUIT trashing our conservative candidates. Exactly. Sometimes we conservatives can be our own worst enemies.

I have an idea for a new thread: "What is the WORST rebuke you've ever gotten from JimRob?"There sure has been a ton of "worst of" threads today, like worst meal, worst movie, worst drink.

"The idea is to get more conservatives elected, not to trash the ones you don't like." No truer words spoken here for a long time. You kids knock it off!

I agree on all counts. I noticed the trigger was being pulled on numerous threads lately. They always caught my attention because of the subject matter or title. I find that there are many web sites like Rense or others to find this stuff and read it. They are of little use for debate since you either believe the stuff or you don't. Tempers get hot and the flames begin. Nothing is improved, and no knowledge is gained by that.
This site is advertised as a conservative political forum and not a rant site. Nor is it a place where anti establishment rhetoric should be spread.
To: Jim Robinson
Nicely put. My thought nearly exactly. (Of course, can we keep the Microsoft threads? They are entertaining!)

Good, Good!
I always thought this amounted to little more than banner advertising for them anyway.

Have you thought of having some separate "chat" section where all the garbage and ramblings can be freely posted? Sometimes the news is really slow and it is nice to "chat" with other Freepers.

And, whatever else you do, please DO NOT post from DEMOCRATS UNDERGROUNDI'll bump to that... I mean, don't we blast Salon for having nothing better to do than "report" on what we're saying here?

Nor is it a place where anti establishment rhetoric should be spread.Uh, dude, I don't know where you are from, but where I am, the liberal elite is 'the establishment'.
Does that mean I can't spread anti-liberal rheotoric?

"Way too many vanity threads lately. And way too much trash being posted. Please try to stay on topic (politics)." The vanity to news ratio is way out of whack. Thanks for posting this, Jim.

Will this warning apply equally to serial libertarian flamers like Dane and Cultural Jihad?

DO NOT post from DEMOCRATS UNDERGROUND THANK YOU!!!!
To: Jim Robinson
I have noticed multiple postings of the "greedy" victims of WTC lately...and they have not been pulled. Would you say that often observations sometimes are ahead of the actual news in print and tv media...here on FreeRepublic?
To: Mark17
There sure has been a ton of "worst of" threads today, like worst meal, worst movie, worst drink.I believe these threads are posted by DemocRATS who want to deplete all available space on Free Republic's servers. If they are allowed to continue doing this, they will force us to have fundraisers EVERY month in order to keep FR going. We need to reserve the server space for the discussion of politics only. Just like Jim said above.

68-69TonkinGulfYatchClub -- good morning, amigo.

I think calling the victims of 911 "greedy" is a pretty crummy thing to do.

That title should be reserved for some of the charities involved.. They earned it, imo..

And does this mean the moderators will be seeking out and deleting duplicate threads? Personally, I think it would be better not only in terms of preserving space but also for facilitating vigorous debate if there was one thread dealing with a story instead of three or four.
