I have an idea for a new thread: "What is the WORST rebuke you've ever gotten from JimRob?"

There sure has been a ton of "worst of" threads today, like worst meal, worst movie, worst drink.

I believe these threads are posted by DemocRATS who want to deplete all available space on Free Republic's servers. If they are allowed to continue doing this, they will force us to have fundraisers EVERY month in order to keep FR going. We need to reserve the server space for the discussion of politics only. Just like Jim said above.

Why do we have those? And conversely, the "best?"

I haven't been around very long, but in the time I've been here, I've spent quite a bit of online time FReeping. I think most of "us" view FR as a community, rather than a on trick pony. We enjoy the interaction with people who share similar interests and concerns, whether it be politics, religion, or life in general.

It's not my server space, of course, but those threads you speak of are actually quite popular, and perhaps provide a respite from the political threads. I've certainly participated in them, when they were of interest.

I even liked a thread from Don Joe, who asked FReepers to pray for his cat. Not political, but stirring in that he thought highly enough to share with fellow FReepers. By the way, Don Joe, I hope Jessie is still eating well and feeling better.

Focusing on conservatism is essential, and as Martha would say, "A good thing," but a diversion is not always bad.

Thanks.
