The D.C. Chapter of Free Republic will forever admire the courageous stand taken by Linda Tripp to tell the truth during the dark days of the investigation leading up to the impeachment of President Clinton. This was done at great personal sacrifice.
It is with great sadness and concern that we learned recently that, while others have profited handsomely from their criminal acts during the Clinton era, Linda Tripp has been nearly bankrupted and is facing foreclosure on her home. She was fired from her government job by Bill Clinton on the last day of his term. Her attempts to find another position in her field at the George C. Marshall Center in Germany were sabotaged by a leak to the press.
Since then, according to press reports, Linda has not been able to find work commensurate with her experience. We believe that this is because she is considered radioactive as a result of her reputation for telling the truth and not going along with the business-as-usual practices of those who do work with the Federal Government.
According to press reports, actions leading to foreclosure on Linda's home in Columbia, Maryland, have commenced. She had been renting the home out while staying with friends but it has recently been without tenants.
Members of the D.C. Chapter are stepping forward to help Linda in her time of need. We want her to have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. If you would like to share the D.C. Chapter's efforts as we give a hand up to a FRiend, here's how you can do so:
Send a check or money order payable to Linda Tripp. Please send it c/o David K. Colapinto, Esq., Kohn, Kohn & Colapinto, P.C., 3233 P Street, N.W., Washington, D.C. 20007. Mr. Colapinto will see that whatever funds are received will go directly to Linda Tripp and not to a defense fund.
Disclaimer: This is a voluntary effort organized by the D.C. Chapter of Free Republic. The posting of this notice is with the consent of Free Republic, LLC. However, none of the donations for Linda will be handled by or through Free Republic, LLC, or the D.C. Chapter of Free Republic. Therefore, neither Free Republic, LLC, nor the D.C. Chapter have any responsibility for the accounting or disposition of the donations.
This effort by the D.C. Chapter is solely our idea. Linda Tripp did not ask for these donations, nor did anyone else. We are doing this because we care.

I like to learn. The first time someone alleged she spread rumors to the press while working in the White House about President Bush Sr. having an affair I asked what possible motivation she could have had. When someone said there was no affair, I asked if she made the story up. I haven't heard anyone deny she was interested in a book contract. If that's not so, it would be good to know. And I think I might have diffused a potentially ugly debate between two Freepers by showing them how much they agreed on and how the differences might be irrelevant to both of them. All this while compiling thousands of lines of code. I don't care one way or another where your from or what you believe, but I do care if I've been misinformed about Linda Tripp. If you can clarify whether she did or did not slander President Bush Sr. while working as a member of his White House Staff, please go right ahead.

Good going DC FReepers. Glad you are helping get Linda back on her feet again. Hopefully someone out there will find her a valuable employee and hire her.

Can you read? You just wasted 169 words on someone who doesn't believe the little game you're playing.
So are you someone like Bacon and have unresolved issues with Tripp or do you have a Tripp fetish and just like hanging out on her threads? Which is it?

You should change your name to "ConsistentDisruptor" as it would be a better fit to your behavior in this instance.
Ditto Kristinn's comments - thanks for the bumps to keep this thread in the Latest Posts.

It was good to see you tonight, Angelwood! Thanks for the new thread.
Linda bump!

Opinions seem to differ on Linda Tripp. I can see that you're quite keen on her, and I can understand why since she helped expose Clinton's lies. Apparently President Bush Sr. and President Bush Jr. are not so keen on her, and I unless I've been misinformed about her (false) allegations about President Bush Sr. having had an affair, I think they have reasonable grounds. I mean, slander of a sitting President by a member of his very own White House staff would be a serious matter. How about you? Do you see this as a case where anyone who disagrees with you has an unreasonable view?

Good seeing you, k! Here's another Linda bump!

I'm beginning to think you may have a mental problem. It's great for keeping the thread bumped, but you should know that you're making yourself look like an idiot with the bogus "question" routine.
Do you care?
To: Nita Nupress
God only knows what you'd say to Barbara Bush about Linda Tripp. Think about that.

Do you wear pajamas at night or sleep in the nude? How do you like your eggs -- cooked on both sides or sunny side up? Have you ever had chickens as pets? Do you know how disgusting they can be? What kind of deoderant do you wear? Do you shave your armpits? Have you ever had lice? Do you have any pets? What are their names? Do they sleep in bed with you? Do you even sleep in a bed? Box springs or a waterbed? Do you change your sheets at least once a week? What kind of car do you drive? Have you ever farted in public? Did it stink?

Good to see you, too !

Why does the serpent in the Garden come to mind while reading your posts?

your post #55. My thoughts exactly. I was asked some stupid questions on the last thread. I answered the important one about the pressure on Linda Tripp to commit perjury but it was never acknowledged.
Some people just like to be annoying, I guess.

It was great to see you again, too. Merry Christmas!
Hey, Everyone! I left the DC Chapter Christmas get-together just a little early -- before the bill was presented. I've just learned that everyone at the party put in just a little extra to make sure there would be plenty to cover the costs of our great meal.
When all accounting was done and the generous tip included, there was $70 left over. A vote was taken and it was decided to send this amount to Linda Tripp.
From the DC Chapter to Linda -- MERRY CHRISTMAS!

If your fart stunk, did other people smell it and you got embarrassed? Did you tell everyone that Linda Tripp did it? What temperature do you keep your house? Do you fold your towels neatly? Do they match the decor in your bathroom? Do you have a bathroom or do you use an outhouse? Have you ever had food stuck in your teeth and didn't know it until later? Did you blame that on Linda Tripp, too? What is your favorite color? Why are you sending me a Freepmail instead of asking the questions in public? Do you know how to use Word Count on MS Word? Are you smart enough to learn?
To: Nita Nupress
"Do you wear pajamas at night or sleep in the nude?" I had no idea the extent of your fascination with me, but I'm afraid the feeling isn't mutual. I'm sure there are plenty of Freepers around that would love to tell you whether they sleep in the nude and if you liked the answer you could take things from there. Why don't you add something to your homepage outlining your preferences and desires and maybe you'll get lucky?

Hey, Everyone! I left the DC Chapter Christmas get-together... I'm jealous!
What a great thing to do with the extra money.
