The U. S. government released today a copy of a videotape of Osama bin Laden obtained by U.S. forces in Jalalabad, Afghanistan in late November.
The video was filmed by unknown persons.
"There was no doubt of bin Laden's responsibility for the September 11 attacks before the tape was discovered," said Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld.
The release of the tape was made after balancing the concerns about any additional pain that could be caused by its release against the value of having the world fully appreciate what we are up against in the war against terrorism.
The tape was released with an English translation and English subtitling, prepared independently by George Michael, translator, Diplomatic Language Services; and Dr. Kassem M. Wahba, Arabic language program coordinator, School of Advanced International Studies, Johns Hopkins University. They collaborated on their translation and compared it with translations done by the U.S. government for consistency. There were no inconsistencies in the translations.

What? Its taken them all this time and they still can't get it right? Not verbatim? Add a word here, change a word there ... and boom, the smoking gun.
I'm not defending terrorists (whomever they may be) but the government has submitted so much 'non verbatim' evidence about so many things for so many years that have subsequently turned out to be false that its hard to trust them at all to get it right anymore, ie. how many people still believe the official 'line' about the Kennedy assassination?
How many times are we going to anhilate entire nations to get one 'evil' man ... and then after thousands of innocent citizens have perished in the bombings, the alleged perp always gets away.

Page 3 related a dream or vision where "There will be a great hit and people will go out by hundreds to Afghanistan."
He should have dreamed that THOUSANDS would go out to Afghanistan, all of them U.S. Miltary.
Lighten up. It's nearly impossible to get a perfect, verbatim translation of just about any lengthy foreign speech or writing. There are connotations, shades of meaning and words that don't carry in the other language. We've had centuries to translate the Bible, and still don't have a perfect version.
Do you have a problem with that?
Soon we will hear news about Osama being in another country. That country will then be "harboring terrorists". The American people will be screaming for Osama's blood, so we'll invade. We can bounce from country to country all we want.
Whether or not it's true, it's propaganda at its finest.
(The definition of propaganda being "ideas, facts, or allegations spread deliberately to further one's cause or to damage an opposing cause".)
Lets just see whose dreams come true!!
