I think the PPCLI is the only Canadian regiment to receive a Presidential Citation (Korean War). A pretty good infantry outfit, in fact their almost as good as the Van Doos.

A nice gesture..however, Canada would do us much more of a service were they to tighten up entrance screening from overseas flights.......it's the unguarded back door to the US/Canada border

wow thanks canada. Now that the enemy has been for the most part defeated, you decide to fight! Reminds me of Russia declaring war against Japan after they surrendered.

I'm sorry but I get some really strange pictures in my (so called) mind of Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry. They involve lace doilies and china tea sets.
Welcome glad to have you the more the merrier.

Thanks for the post. Let's try to walk and chew gum at the same time. What is wrong with tighter border controls, airline security, and kicking a little Afgan butt at the same time. Before we critize Canada too much about controlling borders, We may want to send a message to D.C..
I understand we are going to allow illegal aliens to fly out of the country legally, fly back in legally to take up their illegal status again after "mourning" . Give me a break. Are we a great country or what? Forget that tatoo of a flag I was thinking about. I'll spend the money on lazer treatment to try to get the "STUPID" erased from my forehead.

If you yanks had not elected a draft dodging pot smoking flag burning philander for eight years we might not have to put our brave men and women in harms way. Tanks a lot.

Canada is not even a real country, heh? A few years ago they couldn't even get a few Indians off of a bridge, you know.

For all you nay sayers ... the CDN armed forces may be small, but are very professional and well trained. Particularly in cold weather combat ... their army troops, when deployed in winter conditions, often time strip to their waist ... and clean up using snow. With the onset of the Afgan winter just a few weeks away Canadian troops will feel right at home.

Supposedly during the bombing of Serbia the Canadian CF-18s did not have up-to-date communications equipment so when Canadians were in the air the NATO forces had to use unsecured communications. Hopefully, this unit is better equipped but I doubt it since Canada is more interested in sending troops to wear blue helmets than spending the money to be an integral part of NATO.
