How do Afghan dudes meet the Afghan babes?
Vanity ^
Posted on 10/23/2001 4:04:05 PM PDT by hawaiian
This is admittedly a strange topic, and it is a pure vanity post, but I have been wondering this now for about 3 days, and I can't figure it out. If the women in Afghan women have to be completely covered when they go out in public, HOW do Afghan guys and gals hook up? How does an Afghan guy make a judgement about whether the Afghan gal is hot or not? And what kind of social events are there that provide opportunities for Afghan flirting, etc? This makes no sense to me? How does an Afghan guy get interested in, and revved up for, an Afghan woman, and how do they proceed towards marriage? I'm all ears.

I believe their marriages are all arranged. There would never be any dating if that is what you mean. Makes sense.
Do you think unmarried adult males taking young males as sexual partners is as common as is sometimes reported?

The Taliban clergy issue marriage certificates to their men so they can "take a bride durring battle "
ie : rape.

That was a joke, esmith...a JOKE...:-)
So okay, maybe not a good one. It's getting late...
I too have heard that Afghan women are good-looking. But they'll have to be pretty spectacular to outdo Iranians. I've met a few, and those Persian chicks are Da Bomb!

Yes, parents arrange marriages for their children with children of their friends. I think parents do quite a bit of networking for years keeping up relationships with people they know with their own childrens' future mates in mind. My daughter married into a family that is originally from Pakistan. Those parents are still arranging for marriages for some of their kids (obviously NOT for my son-in-law, though).
What is really arresting to me is the lack of women out in public in Pakistan and much more so in Afghanistan. I know women have to stay home in Afghanistan unless a male relative takes them out, but it sure makes the streets look strange with only men there.

"How does an Afghan guy make a judgement about whether the Afghan gal is hot or not?"All they really care about is if she makes goat or camel sounds at the right time.
To: mystery-ak
of course there are afghan babes. remember roxanne from "The man who would be king"?
To: hawaiian
Ever hear of the concept of a "grab bag"?
No wonder Afghanis are cranky.
[.........except for the lucky few, who upon their wedding nights exclaim. "Look what I got!!!!"]
To: goodieD
Actually, the dude's mother or other female relatives like sister, get to look at the bride before the wedding. So it is not good to piss em off before you get married :P. So he has to have second had accounts about the gal. The dude cannot look at her, till the wedding nite. Even during the wedding, they are seperated by a screen and shout the marriage vows over the screen to each other.
