Hey no-meat-eaters-on-Fridays-during-Lent!
There are a ton of us Catholic Freepers out there, this is our little thread in the big big world. This is just my way of attempting to get to know people just like me.
A few links I enjoy:
www.vatican.va - the Holiest Web Site on Earth
www.scripturecatholic.com - providing Scripture references to support the teachings of the faith
And lastly, I post a joke I once heard on Free Republic:
What is the difference between a Catholic and a Protestant? Catholics wave to each other in the liqour store.
The Neverending Story Thread
Poland: Still the World's Most Catholic Country
Canadian Cable TV offers homosexual channel, not EWTN

Well, uhh, I'm Lutheran.
My wife is Baptist and says being Lutheran is as good as being Catholic, so, does that count?

Thank you much for the welcome. :) Very nice to join in, though to be quite honest it feels a little strange joining in...I am very much used to just being a "voyeur" and just silently wishing to be involved, though I realize how foolish that is, since no one was stopping me from becoming involved ;), and I feel like I know many of you like brothers and sisters already. :) Again, thank you. :)

It wasn't just a good day for Catholics worldwide.Saying "Be not Afraid" as he took on his new role began the deathmarch of the Soviet Union. WASP's like me can also applaud that day, too.

A Catholic bump from Massachusetts. I apologize for my state in advance.Yeah, I can get behind that! I'm a Catholic in MA, originally from MS, and I can say without reservation that you Northeast Catholics are different! Maybe it comes from bring around so many other Catholics all the time. When I was growing up, the population of the whole State of MS was only 3% Catholic, and I don't think it has changed that much!

We Catholics are few and far between here in OK, but we're still proud to be RC! I just registered today to attend training for Project Gabriel this Saturday. It's a ministry that helps women who find themselves in unplanned pregnancies. It seems like a very good cause and I hope I can be of help to someone who is facing things alone.
BTW, 28 y.o. homeschooling pro-life mommy dittoes to all!!!

Maybe it comes from bring around so many other Catholics all the time. When I was growing up, the population of the whole State of MS was only 3% Catholic, and I don't think it has changed that much! The New England Catholics are 90% liberal (I feel sorry for the other 10%), the southern Catholics are few and far between (exception: Louisiana). You need to come here to the suburban and rural MIDWEST-- conservative catholism abounds. Growing up, the term Catholic Republican was redundant in my town. ;-)
