The Neverending Story
An ongoing debate on Scripture, Tradition, History and Interpretation.
Statesmen may plan and speculate for liberty, but it is religion and morality alone which can establish the principles upon which freedom can securely stand. The only foundation of a free constitution is pure virtue. - John Adams |

But since Windoze is a copy of the Mac OS, drag and drop still applies. But perhaps you'll like this better ... After you have an image on CD, insert the CD into your D:/ drive. Double-click on "My Computer" to open that window. Double-click on the CD icon to access the CD. When you have located the file(s) you wish to copy, right click on it and select "Copy." Find the area on your harddrive ("My Computer") that you want to copy the image to, right click in that window and select "Paste." Is that better, Steven? ;o)I was only trying to help. :-) Sheesh. Ask Mary to ask God to forgive me. :-)

My understanding that Pleastinian Jews spoke Aramaic rather than Hebrew They spoke Aramaic, but they used Hebrew in their worship and in study of scripture. All of those synagogues that Jesus visited were not using Greek translations.

By recognizing a flawed but not wretched nature of man, we relize that pagans can catch glimpses of the Truth. It is not to pervert the Truth on purpose, but a true lack of understanding caused by not being subject to Divine Revelation.
One might even call it...'invincible ignorance'. ;o)

I describe the way I believe church should be. I have not started one, I would love to though.
I am not sure what you consider communal worship, but we would sing, pray, cry, learn, evangelize, whatever.
It would not involve membership but would hold people accountable.
It would include a reading of the word along with a study.
It would include worship along with keeping order.
Church is no longer a community and buisness and membership are two large contributing factors to this problem!!!(Along with the need for an authority other than Christ!)
To: NATE4"ONE NATION"
"One in the same. All the same God." Yes, but in three distinct persons. Jesus taught us to pray to his Father. Jesus also wants us to pray to the Holy Spirit. All three are to be worshipped and glorified.
I can't help but speculate your antipathy to Mary has to some extent something to do with the false doctrine you, yourself, just taught when you said we are to worship Christ and Him alone. Christ tells us to worship his Father as well. And I suspect if you recognized Mary is the Mother of God, you would come to realize the Holy Spirit is Her Spouse. Then, you would recognize He, too, should be worshipped.
Just out of curiosity, how do you interpret John 19: 25-27?

John 1:1-2 1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was <*2> with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God.OK. I'm real slow bear with me. First, we know that there is no such thing as "THE WORD". There is no "WORD" running around anywhere, right? "WORDS" don't have being, brains or self esteem. Jesus isn't and never was a "WORD". He knows he wasn't a "WORD" ever.
Second, just exactly what is "GOD"? Is God a name? Is it sufficient to narrow down what we are referring to? There are many gods. Which god is God? How many names has He got? The "I AM", the Creator, Jahweh, Jehovah etc. He is above all the Father of an only begotten Son, Jesus Christ. Jesus says He was His Father! He spoke to His Father! We have an eyewitness, Stephen saw Jesus standing at the right hand of His Father!
Thirdly, Isn't it a little strange that a word was with God and the word was God? How is something with something when it already is that something?

Do you see any Messianic foreshadowing in this episode? I'm afraid not. None whatsoever.
I had always heard that this was a type of Christ, but I thought why would God use a serpent to foreshadow Jesus? Then my Pastor explained it this way: bronze in the Scriptures symbolizes judgement, that's why you had the brazen altar and laver in the Tabernacle. So the bronze serpent represents the judgement of Satan when Christ died for the sins of the world.
Well Christians find a lot of 'foreshadowings' of Jesus in the Hebrew scriptures that Jews do not recognize as such. This seems like a real reach to me. God did not need to fill the scriptures with foreshadowings of the messiah; He explicitly said what the messiah would do. This is, IMHO, an example of Christians trying to read Jesus into the Torah.
