The Neverending Story
An ongoing debate on Scripture, Tradition, History and Interpretation.
Statesmen may plan and speculate for liberty, but it is religion and morality alone which can establish the principles upon which freedom can securely stand. The only foundation of a free constitution is pure virtue. - John Adams |

Didn't Mary play for the Milwaukie Bucks? Yep, she was a center. A killer shot block, and good moves in the paint, but she couldn't hit a free throw.

Don't forget those last second "Hail Me" plays. ;-)

Im curious. How old is everyone here? I think I'm the youngest of the bunch at 26. Anyone else younger?? 33
To: SoothingDave
I just had my Rolling Rock birthday. "33" Birth date? I'm August 20th.

Your "magic" is my "miraculous healing."
So Moses made a bronze serpent, and set it on a pole; and if a serpent bit any man, he would look at the bronze serpent and live. (Numbers 21:9)

Yes, God is mediator to Himself. Yes, He prays to Himself. No reasonable person can believe this. You get two awards in one day!

Dec. 1
Like I said, I just had my birthday.

No reasonable person can believe this. Not only the world's billion Catholics and millions of Orthodox as reasonable people believe this, but also all orthodox Protestants.

Obviously this "Numbers" book isn't canonical.

So we shouldn't even try? That's like saying we shouldn't pursue missile defense because any system we come up with will not be able to knock 100% of the missiles shot at us down.
I have explained why I feel the way I do. I beilieve it is like saying:
"You might be a potential fake Christian, so we are going to check you out through a series of questions and interviews before we let you into our exclusive, illegitimate believers club."
That is exactly what you are saying whether you want to admit it or not.

Drag and drop. Then email them. Or (if one of us is brave enough) someone can give you access to the site and you can upload them. That's Macintosh speak. Does Mack own a Mac?

To: vmatt
vmatt, lets go back to John 1 again. It clearly states that the Word was God and that the Word became flesh. How do you interpret this, if it doesn't mean God became flesh.

So Moses made a bronze serpent, and set it on a pole; and if a serpent bit any man, he would look at the bronze serpent and live. (Numbers 21:9)Do you see any Messianic foreshadowing in this episode? I had always heard that this was a type of Christ, but I thought why would God use a serpent to foreshadow Jesus? Then my Pastor explained it this way: bronze in the Scriptures symbolizes judgement, that's why you had the brazen altar and laver in the Tabernacle. So the bronze serpent represents the judgement of Satan when Christ died for the sins of the world.

So we should expect the Pastor to be on call 27 hours a day 8 days a week, spend time in the Word, in prayer, in sermon preparation, in counseling, in funeral services, in wedding ceremonies, in hospital visits, and expect him to put in a 40-hour week at a secular job?
I see it a little more clearly now.
Aren't these duties the duties of us all?
You elect someone to do it all for the body. To be your representative, to talk at you, to do everything.
I see why so many get burned out.
To: AlguyA
Do you not worship the Holy Spirit and God the Father?
One in the same. All the same God.

That's Macintosh speak. Does Mack own a Mac?But since Windoze is a copy of the Mac OS, drag and drop still applies.
But perhaps you'll like this better ... After you have an image on CD, insert the CD into your D:/ drive. Double-click on "My Computer" to open that window. Double-click on the CD icon to access the CD. When you have located the file(s) you wish to copy, right click on it and select "Copy." Find the area on your harddrive ("My Computer") that you want to copy the image to, right click in that window and select "Paste."
Is that better, Steven? ;o)

If Mary isn't omnipresent or omniscient, she cannot hear every prayer can she?
You use reasoning you would attribute to God and give it to Mary and prove my point with your posts.
Mary is not God

You seem to be confusing our screening for potential child molesters or other people who may be physically dangerous to our congregation with our asking to hear someone's testimony before we allow them into membership to be able to vote on church business matters or to get involved in church ministries, like teaching Sunday School, AWANA, Super Church, nursery worker and the like.
We do not bar anyone from attending our services, unless they are dangerous to our congregation.

That's Macintosh speak. Does Mack own a Mac?Are Mac users even allowed on this site? Somebody should let JohnRob know. Maybe that's why the place keeps crashing, to many Libs on Macs trying trying to get on at once.
