They risk fines and loss of those licenses if one of the dreaded taxi inspectors catches them, however.
Well, if only one percent of the musli in America, were fanatics, it wold be 70,000.
Think about this, and then watch the news, and Ashcroft. People on FR were just so thrilled, because he was anti-abortion. To me, he is just another career, hack politico.
I would be more confident, if Bush had appointed some corporate types, maybe even confidentially, to tell him what REALLY needs to be done.
What we MUST wake up to is this. In 1941, we interned people, with far LESS reason than we would have for doing it now. Think about that.
>>>>since Sept. 11, various leads have been investigated regarding Middle Eastern employees who may not have shown up for work at the World Trade Center that morning. One detective conducting such investigations in Brooklyn said they had become "a serious and major priority."
This was a big question on my mind ever since the attacks!
In general, I agree with you, BUT--
There's another, completely different, question that may be asked built from the same data.
To my eyes, it seems obvious that authorities MUST HAVE KNOWN about this attack and stepped aside to allow it to happen.
If so many people were talking ahead of time, someone would have gotten word to the FBI or NSA or CIA. Someone would have heard about it.
That's the questions, to my eyes, that's hard to face. How could people in authority have allowed this to happen? How can we continue to go about our normal lives knowing that someone stepped aside and allowed 911 to happen?

This touches on something that has been bothering me. On FNC, they often talk with Judge Neopolitano (sp). And he always says that the authories can't detain suspects without reasonable cause, because of our constitution. My question is this.... If these people are NOT citizens of the US, then what rights do they have under our constitution? I would think NONE AT ALL. And that we could detain them until we felt like letting them leave or be deported whichever seemed best.
Could someone explain to me why non citizens, who may be here illegally are given access to our 'rights' as citizens?
This was the same neighborhood that sheltered a number of the 1993 WTC bombing conspirators. Omar Abdul Rahman's mosque was there, IIRC.
Your guess is as good as mine why these things were not given much coverage in the media after the first week. For one thing, newscrews were otherwise occupied on 9/11. For another, just look at the furor that resulted when a few scenes of celebrations overseas were shown. It just didn't "suit" certain people to have the truth shown. That doesn't mean these local events did not happen.
And racial / ethnic profiling is wrong, right ?
One more thing: If 13 year olds in the US can be tried as an adult, why the HELL are these f'n Muslim high school students allowed back into a school I fund with my tax dollars!? Why aren't they behind bars!? Grrrrrrr!
If they cannot prove they are here legally, we have "reasonable cause" that they are violating immigration laws.
There was a thread started on FR here about two weeks ago by a Freeper who said a friend told him that the friend noticed some mid eastern type vendors were absent that morning around the twin towers. As I remember the Freeper was getting flamed by some for speculation.
Anyone find or remember that thread?? I would like to revisit that thread. - Tom
The student pointed out a third-story window of New Utrecht High School toward the Trade Center and said, `Do you see those two buildings? They won't be standing there next week,' according to three police sources and a city official familiar with the investigation. They said the comment came in the midst of a heated political discussion the studentwas having with his teacher in an English class for Arab-American students. "
Pakistan, eh? You know, for the past 8 years, Yossef Bodansky has been telling us that Pakistan are at the crux of an international web of "terrorists" (really, highly trained asymmetrical warfare experts) whom he refers to as "Islamabad's Road Warriors". And yet, Pakistan is the 1st place we went to draft "partners" in our "War On Terrorism". Are we content to let the past be the past and to continue our seemingly blind trust of Musharif? Yeah, I know they are going through the motions and are behaving, at least on the surface, in a cooperative manner. However, for us to think that bin Laden and and Taliban were the main players in this whole thing seems to me to be a bit naive. I hope I am wrong.
If this had happened in the Chicago area I am confident that it would have been reported locally. When some local morons vandalized and demonstrated at a local mosque it was widely reported.
This is the stuff of so called urban legends if not sourced.
