Sr. Lucy Receives New Message
Diocese Report ^

Posted on 10/07/2001 4:41:26 PM PDT by HapaxLegamenon

Michael Matt, editor of the Remnant a traditionalist Catholic newspaper published the following report on their website. We have been informed by a reliable contact in France that Sister Lucy (the only surviving seer of the Fatima apparitions) has delivered a message to Carmelite sisters in France. According to this report, Sister Lucy recently received another communication from the Mother of God. In the wake of that communication, we are told, Sister Lucy has asked Carmelite sisters throughout the world to pray specifically on the Feast of the Most Holy Rosary for a special intention. That intention is, we are told, that the world might be spared “a blood bath.” Whether this has any connection to the impending war with Islamic terrorists, we have no way of knowing. Though our French source is reliable, we have not been able to confirm this report ourselves, and are now in the process of trying to do so. At least two Carmelite convents in the United States have indicated to us that they have NOT received such a message. One Carmelite convent, however, did confirm that they did receive a letter from the Asociatcion Ntra. Sca Del Rosario in Fatima Portugal (dated September 13th, 2001), which did call on the Carmelite order to unite with Sister Lucy in praying for peace in the world on October 7—the Feast of the Holy Rosary. In this letter (written in Spanish) there was no mention of a recent communication to Sister Lucy from Our Lady, nor was there reference to a “blood bath.” We are presently waiting for the text of the French version. In any event, we believe that, because time is short between now and the Feast of the Holy Rosary, it would be a good idea for all Catholics to join the Carmelites in praying for this intention on tomorrow’s Feast. Such an intention is a certainly most worthy, especially right now; so even if this French report turns out to be somehow exaggerated, the intention is still well worth remembering during this critical hour of unrest and uncertainty in the world.

What an extraordinarily absurd comment ... Catholics dont possess a "unique" sense of humor ... their humor is like the rest of mankind ... your observations were intended to ridicule Catholics ... please be honest enough to say so ... do not pretend that Catholics are so special that you can say something which ridicules them which is so "special" that your hatred is insignificant

You've gone from puzzling, to angering, to a caricature. Now you are pathetic and small and tiny and insignificant. I laugh at your silliness, and your weak and pathetic attempts to smear my good friend the Senator.

You are the consummate "Weenie Boy". Thank you, seriously, thank you for outing yourself.

And if you're not a Catholic, then I invite you to please SHUT UP about things you know nothing about. Ad Majorem Dei Glorium!

Take me off the list; this Catholic cares not for the level of dialogue around here. And I thought the fundie Protestants were bad. Sheesh

No, they are not left in the cold, and yes, they are capable of sinning. All humans are born with a sin nature, born sinful.

As I understand it, the Catholic teaching is that all (except Christ and his mother) are conceived with "original sin", not born with it.

If you hold any other belief, then you start to come up with a sort of "age of responsiblity" sort of problem; "Well, children don't know any better so they aren't sinful until they're, say, five." Unfortunately, this is both Scripturally and logically unsupported.

There is no problem with "age of responsibility." Basically, at a certain point in development, a human can choose between good and evil. It they choose evil they have sinned. WHEN that age is reached, only God and that particular person know.

I find no problem with the logic. As far as being "Scripturally supported", I am sure that if a person wanted to, they could assemble a string verses to pretty much support or shoot down any idea.

St. Augustine in his Confessions rejects the notion of the innocence of babies:

"I have myself seen a small baby jealous; it was too young to speak, but it was livid with anger as it watched another infant at the breast" (Book I, Chapter VII, trans. F. J. Sheed).

Augustine had some radical ideas concerning infants. The Catholic Church doesn't accept all of his writings.

....please do yourself a favor and find a Traditional Mass ( not indult ) near you and attend.

Please explain why, if you find the indult mass problematic, you think so. You make a special point to exclude it from your recommendation. It begs the question, why?

It's gratifying to see so many requests seeking addition to the Catholic bump list. Thanks for doing that.

There is already an idolatry website etwn.com, why don't you post this there where it belongs?

Actually, etwn.com is an ePilot link ("business takes off"). So what we have here is either:

a) unbeliever worships business so much it he thinks it comprises "idolatry," or,

b) he is apparently an unbeliever in checking out his links.

I'll buy the latter: he has so much stereotypical blather to spread and so little time. How can he be bothered with checking the accuracy of what he posts???

Maybe he was just trying to save you neo-Christian heretics from your impending doom.

Now unbeliever, you know any effort you put into replying to my posts are wasted effort unless of course you have decided to abandon your pride-based apostasy.

Check out St. Mary's in Kansas. After you've done your homework, you need not respond to me--

By no means are strange people confined to the SSPX--there are plenty inhabiting EVERY religion (and the cults.) But the Nazi memorabilia is NOT a good sign, no matter where it's found.

Where in St. Mary's, Kansas, is the Nazi memorabilia located? I have close friends living there and I'd like to have them check it out.

There is nothing "neo" about cathlolicism and its false self serving doctrine.

What God said:

GENESIS 2:16 ¶ And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:
GENESIS 2:17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.

GENESIS 3:1 ¶ Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?
GENESIS 3:2 And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:
GENESIS 3:3 But of the fruit of the tree which [is] in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.

catholic mindset at work.

GENESIS 3:4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:

You are the consummate "Weenie Boy". Thank you, seriously, thank you for outing yourself.

Ah.

And I thank you, for being "serious." And your use of the word "consummate" means you know a word some unconsummate people dont know. "Consummate Weenie Boy" are three words which are interesting, in answering someone. "Outing" is another word, which is interesting ... I wonder exactly what you mean by that. What does it mean to "out" yourself, in any logical sense?

I am curious. Are you able to see the differnce between telling someone you believe their belief is superstitious, as opposed to making fun of what you believe is their superstition? For those who are conservative, this is a good question.

Conservatives, to my mind, are particularly able to distinguish between those subjects which are the civilized topic of comment, and those which are mere riduclue of different beliefs.

Oddly enough, directly confronting a person with your belief that their belief is a superstition, is more civilized than merely making fun of it. Then, there is a basis for respectful conversation. Adults do that. Conservatives are adults.

It is ok to refrain from defending your position because you are daunted by the intellectual task. Just be modest enough to do so.

Absurd; bizarre. I have no 'position' other than Lucy is a fine and humorous Peanuts character. I do believe you string words together for no other reason than to 'hear yourself talk'. You bore me; you have nothing to offer. It is for that reason that I reject you.

You've been outed. Thank you for that.

Some of us keep a Catholic bump list
MAYBE IT'S TIME FOR A LUTHERAN BUMP LIST...............

Lutherans do not worship Mary........We WORSHIP OUR LORD AND SAVIOR, JESUS, THE CHRIST.......

Buy the way.... I was wondering..... What was the Outcome of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) biennial Churchwide Assembly meeting last August 8-14? According to DallasNews.Com, one of the items on the agenda was an issue of approving same sex marriages and remove a ban on noncelibate gay and lesbian clergy that was said to be discriminatory.

http://www.dallasnews.com/religion/434945_ELCA_04rel.ART.html

I know....That was low. My main point here is that we can sit around here all day and slam each others Christian beliefs, everyone will take it personally, and then we end up giving Mr. Bin Laden another victory by letting him create further divisiveness.

I am not a Catholic, but I was married one. After a lot of conversations between me and my wife, she left the Catholic Church. I presented her, individually, with the facts. At least got her to be open minded about. We checked into some different denominations, and found one that was Bible teaching (no new age feel good stuff). After a few services, where everything he told was backed up by scripture, she decided to leave the Catholic Church

When I first started talking with her, I was guilty of "Attacking" her Religion, and found it didn't work. Only when I approached her thru love and concern, and armed with the truth, was any ground gained.

Please ignore spelling and Grammer errors....it's late...

The reason the cult gives you a missle is because it is easier to take individual verses out of context with them isolated that way and rome knows that lazy superstitious people rarely bother to read the Bible themselves. For the few catholics who ACTUALLY do read the Bible you have the idiocy of swearing that you will only accept romes' interpretation, so something done in remembrance is puffed into a physical reality that it wasn't.
A couple of years ago I bought a copy of your cults' "catechism", on the back is proudly procamed "10,000,000 copies in print", so you people aparrently don't even bother to have a copy of your false beliefs in any great numbers.

Ah.

I am curious. Because you refrain from engaging me intellectually, does that mean you are saying you understand the hatred you purveyed, but are too embarrassed to defend your sneering and hateful remarks?

I realize "weenie boy" and "boring" and "outed" are loaded words you wish could convey some meaning. "Bizarre" ... that is a word with zero intellectual content. Perhaps a better method would be to actually defend yourself, intellectually, instead of hurling names.

You reject me ... but, dear man, I do not reject you. You have capacity for a much greater understanding of yourself. Beyond your flippancy, may be a depth, something you are challenged to accept or reject.

Yes, I like to hear the sound of my own words, when they satisfy the best goal of them.

Sneering is sneering. Review all your posts on this website to see if they fit the definition. Imagine in the most harmless way, the possibility that you are not humble, and the implications of that.

Try to see how temporal and restricted is your sense of superiority.

And if you do these things successfully, you will be a better conservative.
