Sr. Lucy Receives New Message
Diocese Report ^

Posted on 10/07/2001 4:41:26 PM PDT by HapaxLegamenon

Michael Matt, editor of the Remnant a traditionalist Catholic newspaper published the following report on their website. We have been informed by a reliable contact in France that Sister Lucy (the only surviving seer of the Fatima apparitions) has delivered a message to Carmelite sisters in France. According to this report, Sister Lucy recently received another communication from the Mother of God. In the wake of that communication, we are told, Sister Lucy has asked Carmelite sisters throughout the world to pray specifically on the Feast of the Most Holy Rosary for a special intention. That intention is, we are told, that the world might be spared “a blood bath.” Whether this has any connection to the impending war with Islamic terrorists, we have no way of knowing. Though our French source is reliable, we have not been able to confirm this report ourselves, and are now in the process of trying to do so. At least two Carmelite convents in the United States have indicated to us that they have NOT received such a message. One Carmelite convent, however, did confirm that they did receive a letter from the Asociatcion Ntra. Sca Del Rosario in Fatima Portugal (dated September 13th, 2001), which did call on the Carmelite order to unite with Sister Lucy in praying for peace in the world on October 7—the Feast of the Holy Rosary. In this letter (written in Spanish) there was no mention of a recent communication to Sister Lucy from Our Lady, nor was there reference to a “blood bath.” We are presently waiting for the text of the French version. In any event, we believe that, because time is short between now and the Feast of the Holy Rosary, it would be a good idea for all Catholics to join the Carmelites in praying for this intention on tomorrow’s Feast. Such an intention is a certainly most worthy, especially right now; so even if this French report turns out to be somehow exaggerated, the intention is still well worth remembering during this critical hour of unrest and uncertainty in the world.

I'm Catholic, and I appreciated having a good chuckle before entering the Protestant vs. Catholic bloodbath that I expect on these threads : )

Urbana bin Guerilla is being a jerk for strife's sake.

Unlike Laz, I won't apologize.

You were wise, Senator. I could not understand how someone would take offense at either of our comments, but I figured, "Hey. Ya never know. Maybe he is remarkably adherent to his religion and is very touchy. So let me err on the side of carefulness and sensitivity."

Then Urbana bin Guerilla reveals he is agnostic, and thusly displays the only reason he is here is to cause strife. He is a Helmet-head of the highest order.

Hey Bin Guerilla: I take back any apology directed in YOUR direction. Anyone else who might have been offended -- and no one has indicated so yet -- the apology attains. But to a trouble-seeking missile like yourself -- masticate this.

sorry senator ... this is utter ridicule of Catholic beliefs ... if you disagree, fine ... just say how, and do your own "'splainin'" ... but to compare any aspect of Fatima with a sitcom, demonstrates a trite understanding and shallow and hateful perspective

You are so full of it.

No, "Urbana bin Guerilla" is being a mensch, for America's sake. Many many Catholics will regard your belittlement as ok, for the sake of American patriotism. That is how Catholics regard life, especially American life. So, your belittlement of Catholicism, for the sake of this discussion, must come only from me. And I tell you, you are shallow and absurd in your hatred of Catholicism. If I were anti-semitic, and laffed at the regard of pork, would I be any different?

Laz ... ok ... review the words you spoke about the Catholic belief concerning Fatima ... if you think Fatima is a joke ... well, at least have the balls to say so ... do not engage in prissy psuedo-comical criticism at fellow Americans when we are at war ... you are a clever fellow but not very appreciative of your fellow Americans ... the whole world, btw, does not revolve around you

You have said so yourself. As an agnostic, you mock all belief in G-d.

As for myself, I respect all other peoples religions. You, Urbana bin Guerilla, are feigning indignation about an imagined slight over a religion you do not even adhere to.

You are solely here to cause division and strife. That is your only purpose. I see it clearly, and others do as well.

You owe me an apology, you dog. I love my Catholic brothers. They stood with us as they fought WWII and Communism. They are my friends.

You disrespect all religions with your hollow mockery, feigning indignation over an imagined slight about a religion you do not even adhere to. You are a fool and your false accusations are hatred personified.

Thank you, madam - I knew Catholics would "get it" because they possess a unique sense of humor.

A couple of years ago, I was watching the Christmas Eve midnight mass broadcast from St. Patrick's Cathedral in NYC.

Cardinal O'Connor was about to begin this most holy Mass, when a late-to-arrive former Mayor Koch was shuffled into one of the nearer pews, and everyone noticed.

O'Connor gave a dead-pan stare at the "audience", and stated "I see Ed Koch is here - now we can begin".

Very funny stuff.

Alas this, helmethead. You owe me an apology, but a shtik drek like you is incapable. You took innocuousness and attempted to make a mountain of it. I reject your attempt. I reject you.

O'Conner was not my guy -- wrong religion -- but I really respected him. Good guy. FUNNY! G-d gives us humor, and His humor is the best without doubt.

G-d gave O'Conner more than his share of this gift, and of wisdom.

What an extraordinarily absurd comment ... Catholics dont possess a "unique" sense of humor ... their humor is like the rest of mankind ... your observations were intended to ridicule Catholics ... please be honest enough to say so ... do not pretend that Catholics are so special that you can say something which ridicules them which is so "special" that your hatred is insignificant

All you need to do is apologize for your insensitive small comment ... no big deal ... but you defend your small comment ... you love your trivial anti-Catholic comment ... it is beloven by you ... to your mind, being anti-Catholic is more important than the Americanism we ought to share ... why? ... it has nothing to do with either of us ... and all to do with the big picture ... why not just say so?

If you say so ... but you are wrong, because I care and I agree with me ... Catholics are so scared of what people think of them ... and I am not even Catholic ... haters of Catholicism govern what Catholicism thinks and does ... yet it is more profound than most

You have been outed. I, for one, am glad for it.

I will carefully observe you in the future, to see you do not visit this level of hypocracy and this level of bizzare denial upon other fine people here.

He already did and didn't even need to. It's not like he was comparing St. Lucy to Madonna. He put up a cute picture of Lucy from Peanuts, for crying out loud! Get a life, Charlie Brown!
