I like the little flags (lapel pins) that our President and First Lady are wearing. They are both outstanding people and we are blessed to have them in the White House.

Thanks, Ohio, for that post from Reagan Cowboy. Remembering the Bush daughters is also important here.

The dose shows a very busy day. Dubya and Laura are out reassuring the citizens that they are in charge, that the country is strong, that we will prevail and that retribution is coming.

Thank you again, rintense, for your pictures that portray the light of goodness that flows from our First Family for all who look to see.

I've been wondering the same thing myself. Someone here on FR posted last Tues that they heard fighter planes flying over New Haven (I forget who, sorry) and my first thought was, someone is picking Barbara up at Yale with military escort - there's a small airport in New Haven, as well as Sikorsky (sp) nearby. The media has been completely silent on the girls, not even a mention of either one that I have heard. I assume they are tucked away somewhere also.

Remembering the Bush daughters is also important here.

I was just so touched that he said "Pray for my little girls." He is President of the United States, leader of the free world, carrying the weight of that world on his shoulders, and yet his first thought was to ask for prayer for his "little girls." He is still their "Daddy" and wants to protect them.

It certainly heightened my awareness that we need to pray diligently for Barbara and Jenna, as we pray for the President, First Lady, administration and the nation.

IT WAS THE BEST PICTURE OF ALL TIME. THE PRESIDENT'S BACK IS TO THE CAMERA, HIS LEFT HAND IS TOUCHING GULIANI'S CHECK, AND HIS RIGHT HAND IS ON PATAKI'S SHOULDER. IT WAS SO, SO TOUCHING. I HOPE SOMEONE HAS IT TO POST.

I just clicked onto the Dose for 9/14 and saw that pic. I don't know how I missed it last Friday. What an awesome picture, and shows you the humanity of Pres. Bush. He can touch people so gently and let them know he cares and is concerned. And the three of them all together gives the world such a picture of unity.

I saw an interview on Sunday with the man who is standing up on the truck with Pres. Bush during that appearance in NY. He was a retired fireman, Bob Beckwith(I think that is the right name), who came down to help because he learned the fireman son of a friend was missing. He said he couldn't see the President, but he was on top of the truck when a SS agent asked him if the truck was stable. He jumped up and down and said it was. The agent told him that someone was coming over, and he was to help him up onto the truck then get right down. He said he was stunned when he reached down and pulled Pres. Bush up! And when he moved to get down, he said Pres. Bush asked him "Where are you going"? When Mr. Beckwith told him what the agent had said, Pres. Bush told him to stay right there. The man was so honored being up there with the Pres. and didn't even realize he was on TV! The cameras were farther away and he didn't see them. He was such a humble man, and said that he remarked to the Pres. "Pretty rough couple of days, huh?" and when the Pres. said "Yes", Mr. Beckwith told him he'd better be sure to take care of himself! He was so sweet!

"Keep doing what you're doing, it's working... Pray for my little girls."

I read that the Bush family is under several death threats, which can only be expected. What a great man- a great family- to continue to lead our great nation, knowing that his many brothers, sisters, neices, nephews, etc. are at great risk because of who he is and what he does. God bless President George W. Bush, God bless the Bush family, and God bless my great country!

I have to say, I applaud the press for not even asking about the girls. Of course, we have a celebrity-like curiosity about them. But the best thing for them is to be left out of it. The less we know about them, the safer they are.

Rintense, thank you for the contiuity you provide with this thread - an important place for remembering the good traits of our leaders. When I try to imagine what President Bush must have on his shoulders - ...I can't. May God Bless him in his duties.

rintense, there have been days when all that has kept me from wanting to run and hide myself from the 9-11 horrors has been the nightly photos. They help me to allow the tears and to be grateful for our Lord's mercy. Thanks.

Yep, it appears in the the thread below: A day in the life of President Bush (photos): 9/14/01

Rin-that picture stays in my mind like no other. The mayor's face is the face of a man needing that moment of comfort, everthing spills out in that picture, but more than anything else, the genuine, touching, mind searing compassion of our President overflows beyond the scope of the photo. It is a photo of indescribable love, strength and understanding. And it is my favorite picture, by leaps and bounds, of anyother of our President so far. (Altho his bending down to get eye level with children and the handicapped, and his infinite love for animals kinda get to me, too!)

The compassion in Laura's face (close up) above is so real. What good people we have in the WH. Grownups. Grownups who know how to love and lead.

rintense - Thanks for the ping.

Dubya_gal - Your comment made me think of something that I heard on the news this morning about President Bush's advisors. They are saying that President Bush is taking this attack too personally, and it is worrying them. Perhaps that is what you're seeing on his face.

All Babes and Bucks - I received an autographed photo of President and Mrs. Bush at the inaugural ball ('course it's only 'cause I've been donating to the RNC) but it's a nice picture. It shows the two of them dancing and smiling, and it shows this HUGE diamond or crystal cufflink on President Bush's shirt. I mean it is huge, and blinding.

What a difference nine months makes. They were so happy then, now they are very troubled, but still as strong and determined. God Bless President Bush and First Lady Laura Bush.

rintense, thank you. So many people here at work who never professed much of an opinion about our President are now his biggest fans. Please keep the Daily Dose coming - we need it now more than ever.
