I am disgusted.
Tonight at Macalester College in Saint Paul, MN, we (the Macalester Catholics) had mass in the basement of our Chapel. Since this place is very liberal (I'm here just for the physics department), I was afraid that during the time for prayer petitions, they'd say something stupid about the WTC attack.
I wasn't disappointed.
After one girl prayed for those of Islamic faith who were being unfairly persectuted, another girl came out on a peacenik tear. She said all kinds of inane things, the best three being "We shouldn't respond with violence", "We should fight terrorism with love", and "I'm not blaming those people who died, but we should see what the U.S. did to provoke these attacks." I, who had to stop myself from shaking in anger, then explained why we have to fight back "after we hug them, they will stab us in the back" and prayed for our country, our President, and for those who wanted peace, because I will not agree with them.
At this point, the girl broke into tears and kept crying throughout the Mass. Even better, four other people prayed for "an appropriate response", "so that nationalism doesn't get out of control and do something worse than the attacks", "the innocent people fleeing their homes in Afghanistan", and "the country of Afghanistan". I had had enough, and, fortuntately after that, no one said anything else so petition time ended. The rest of the Mass was uneventful, even though crying girl announced "I normally don't cry this much."
Usually after Mass, we share snacks and socialize about college life. I didn't stay tonight. I had to get out of there, and I really don't want to go back there next week. I don't feel sorry for making that girl cry either.
May God my college and save me from it.
The Japanese attack Pearl Harbor, and New Yorkers are all wailing about the innocent Japanese sugar-cane workers in Hawaii who might suffer taunts!

And just think about the Japanese soldiers, lonely and far from home, dirtying their bayonets in Nanking, contending with the dastardly resistance put up by the locals...!
Fiction, yes, but not much stranger than the truth, apparently...
American's (until last Tuesday) have led such a sheltered life with regards to international threats to our homeland that most just cant see that for most of history, conflict has been THE RULE, not the exception.
Thank God that there are enough people with spine in this country to make up for the dim-bulbs.
Have a terrorist crash a fuel laden jetliner next to her and then listen to her bawl. What an IDIOT. Find yourself a traditional Latin Mass next week and keep your distance from those nuts.

If loving America, i.e. nationalism/patriotism, is such a problem with these "Catholic" liberals, they can do penance in Iraq or Sudan and find out exactly what extremism really is and what it does.
Frankly, we have more to worry about than that.
Be advised that the warm fuzzy crowd is in a minority. Ordinary Americans are like the passengers on UA 93.
They did what they knew their country needed them to do. They were the children of the men who stormed the beach on D-Day and raised the flag on Mt. Suribachi.
I do not fret for our country's future.

The young ladies from these liberal colleges could volunteer to go to Afghanistan for harem virgin duty. Then the terrorists would not have to become martyrs to get their reward.
