Whether America 'did something' to deserve this or not is not the issue. What difference does this make now? The issue at hand is national security and an appropriate response. Giving peace a chance with nutcases who want war and spread terror, is only going to get more innocent people killed. These people don't want peace!
If loving America, i.e. nationalism/patriotism, is such a problem with these "Catholic" liberals, they can do penance in Iraq or Sudan and find out exactly what extremism really is and what it does.
Frankly, we have more to worry about than that.
