This is good news. Hopefully the Reconciliation Monument at Arlington will be next.

The Confederates took up arms against the Union. But so did the various Indian tribes. We respect Sitting Bull, Crazy Horse, etc.

And so we should respect the Confederates.

The Dems preached hate...and destroying everything Confederate became a goal. Just the opposite of what our forefathers did under reconciliation. Those were someone’s sons, too.

The Confederacy was part of our history, as was slavery. Those things made us the country we are today. They are part of us.

I have always felt that many of the negative things I have done in my life or been subjected to have, in the end, made me a better person. Without them I wouldn’t be the same person. Those things things are part of me.

And our military fighting spirit and heritage owes much to those men from the Confederacy.

And I say all this as a Yankee...

Good!

I grew up in the former Confederate Territory of Arizona, and was proud of that history, which did not include slavery!

“Controversial” because the leftist lunatics fixed on monument removal as their trumped up crusade of the day. Never controversial among normal people

I’d surround it with a fence with plenty of space to put barbed wire around it. People will think twice before climbing, crawling, and defacing. Imagine motion detector tear gas being released with someone crawling around in the stuff.

I don’t think we’re in danger of too much damage in the future. These protesters attention spans are short. They come and go like boners.

Uncle Bob once was Superintendent of Hudson High. It would be pretty Stallinistic to photoshop him out of its history.

"And so we should respect the Confederates."

They were Americans before the war and they were Americans after. Some were patriots before and after.

“return the Confederate Memorial.” Good plan. Why was it removed? Oh yeah, unreasonable people were looking for a scapegoat.
