Trump voters are not pumped about voting in the midterms, poll finds (Reuters Midterm Psyop)
Reuters ^ | October 9, 2026 | Reuters Staff

Posted on 10/09/2026 6:09:39 AM PDT by Diana in Wisconsin

Voters who backed Democratic former Vice President Kamala Harris in 2024 are far more enthusiastic about casting ballots this November than those who supported President Donald Trump, a Reuters/Ipsos poll found, in a potential warning sign for Republicans heading into the midterm elections.

The six-day poll, completed Monday, also found that men were more enthusiastic about voting and more certain to cast ballots than women, and that male voters showed signs of shifting toward Democrats. That could signal erosion in Republican support among a demographic that was a pillar of Trump's 2024 victory.

Some 48% of 2024 Harris voters said they were "very enthusiastic" about voting in the Nov. 3 midterm elections, when control of both chambers of Congress is at stake. By comparison, just 30% of Trump voters said the same in the poll.

The findings add to evidence of an enthusiasm gap favoring Democrats and suggest potential cracks in the coalition that propelled Trump in 2024, when he won the popular vote. That coalition was fueled by strong support from men and gains among Hispanic voters and other demographic groups that shifted to the right in the 2024 election.

Hidden in the article towards the end they state what voters are most concerned about, in this order:

The Economy, Democrat 'values' and Immigration.

The other day, and hoping I am not deviating from this thread’s main issue, I took a brief gander at Rasmussen and it said that voters are apparently now trusting Democrats more regarding immigration and that they would have the Palestinians take over Israel in exchange for lower gas prices. I am wondering who in heaven’s name they are talking to in order to get these ideas and I also wonder if Reuters is doing the same thing here.

Unconditional support for Israel is now largely seen as a Boomer pastime by younger Americans, (who are increasingly less white).

I am not sure of many things. I am sure that Democrats regain control you will as Christians once again be persecuted. That the Democrats will result to class warfare and Constitutional destruction to remain in power. I can promise you hundreds of thousands will die from drugs, additions, and violent crime, yearly. You will see erosion of basic civil liberties, destruction of Christian values and direct attacks on Christians, more pedophilias, sex and child sex trade. You will see ‘affordability’ quickly become run away currency degradation from government spending. You will see enormous amounts of fraud of government programs that will eventually exceed societies ability to fund it. You will see unfettered illegal immigration and it’s societal cost. You will see American Jobs and manufacturing evaporate, except ‘government jobs’.

I say this because this is EXACTLY what they did with Joe Biden and the last time they had power.

If you want all of those things, don’t bother voting in November.

Do you have to be “pumped”?

I have rarely been “pumped” but I have voted in every election other than one off-off year primary where there was no meaningful election on the ballot.

Once I began to see the way opinion pieces become news article its impossible to unsee:

male voters showed signs of shifting

What exactly is a sign of shifting? What objective standard is applied? Who, what, where, when, why?

Unconditional support for Israel

We should never have unconditional support for another Country.

Hell, I don't even trust our government. But the older generation, especially Christians and don't flame me I grew up in a devout Christian home.

My Dad is a preacher and to see Christians just blindly support Israel without even questioning their motives has always baffled me in my 56 years.

I know what the Bible says on Israel so I don't need anyone to post verses.

Flame away.

I will vote but it will be a strictly defensive action.

Just asking, does anyone else hate the trivago commercials, especially the ones with the obnoxious bearded guy and the one with beaver teeth? They must spend all of their revenue on adverts.

So then who do we believe? The young pollster on CNN thinks we’ve out registered democrats in all the swing states. Gloom and doomers think we’re toast in the house. History seems to support that idea.

Polls in the primaries were way off. We all could be in for a big surprise on election day either way. It’s just mind boggling wondering who to believe. Can’t believe Paxton would lose Texas despite his baggage. If Al Sayed wins it’s really over 25 years after 911. I don’t think he will win-too slick and even fence sitters can see it. Is Tafoya wins I’ll cream my pants and send her love letters along with some big money.

I haven’t been pumped since the 1988 election, but I know what the alternative is if I don’t vote. Besides, I believe that if you don’t vote you can’t bitch.

This election, like every election since 2016, will boil down to which party voters are most angry at, not the one they support the most.

Like any poll you have to look at the internals.
Who exactly is responding to these polls.
My wife will respond. I have not in years.

Although, I used to be part of Zogby’s online polling years ago. The last five questions were always qualifying. Age, race, education, income, etc. That way the statistician weights the poll with the correct percentage of respondents based on the make up of the LIKELY VOTERS.

If you are NOT a LIKELY VOTER, that votes in every or the upcoming election then your opinion does not matter.
MANY of these polls are heavier to people that do not bother to vote. However, in off year elections, the LOSER of the previous round typically is more motivated.
