WASHINGTON (AP) — The Pentagon says the firing squad execution of Fort Hood shooter Nidal Malik Hasan will be livestreamed after Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said the execution would be “public.” Hegseth, speaking to the conservative TV outlet Real America’s Voice News on Wednesday, said the execution of Hasan will take place at Fort Hood on Dec. 3. Hasan was convicted of killing 13 people and injuring 32 others in a shooting at the military base in 2009. “We’ll make sure that people are able to watch it, that it’s public,” Hegseth said.

At this point, I don’t think I’ll be watching it.
PPV ?? Proceeds go to benefit victims families.
Pay-per-view would be a nice investment.
They probably have to have some kind of gateway so that it’s not viewable by people under a certain age. I doubt they’ll charge.
This will set the Democrats and the media into a screaming panic.
This will be interesting as in the past the media has wanted to view state executions.
The world had to watch Charlie Kirk get assassinated. I think the world can handle this as well.

I’m sure that was a consideration.
Oh, I will.
And then I will have ice cream or something. Just go on with my day.
Sure. Make him a martyr.
If possible, I will be watching it. I was on Fort Hood when the shooting occurred, although it was on the opposite end of the post. My stepson had just left the processing center about a half-hour earlier and my wife was just frantic when the word went out that the shooting had occurred. His unit was locked down tight and he only thought about calling us an hour or so after it happened.
I’m OK with the execution, but I’ve seen too many deaths by gunshot. The problem is that you never forget.
Ill be eating bacon while I watch.
Some judge will block it. I’m surprised the execution itself hasn’t been blocked.
Hopefully, they’ll dip the projectiles in bacon grease before loading the weapons…and show it in the livestream.
I’ll be drinking a nice bourbon while watching it.
My guess is whatever method they platform the stream it will be inundated.
The optics of executing a paraplegic, however much he deserves it, make this decision potentially a bad one.
It would be better to do a public execution on someone who still looks like a threat.
On the other hand, public executions of any kind are the only real way to deter potential criminals and potential terrorists who would otherwise think there is some sort of dignity in death.
