The traditional gender gap is losing ground as a key factor in politics to intragender gaps that have emerged among Republican and Democratic voters along the fault lines of masculinity and femininity.
This recent development involves differences within each gender, as opposed to the gender gap between men and women, which came to the forefront in the aftermath of the 1980 election between Ronald Reagan and Jimmy Carter,
Men — specifically white men — who see themselves as extremely masculine tend to support President Trump, while those who are weaker in their assessment of their masculinity — or in how they think about masculinity — are far less likely to support Trump. The gap between the two is just as significant if not more significant than the gender gap.
A similar, but more complex spread has emerged among women, although it is smaller and lends itself to competing interpretations.
The growing differences between the parties and their voters over masculinity, femininity and sex generally are sharpening the split between Democrats and Republicans over matters of life and death.
Amid rapid advances in technology, artificial intelligence and scientific research, the use of stem cells, the advents of state laws allowing assisted suicide and the disposition of embryos have all become partisan issues, following the path of abortion.
The basic question of whether differences between men and women are rooted in genetics or provoked by social expectations has also become intensely political. Pew Research reports that “majorities of Republicans point to biology as the main driver of differences between men and women,” while, on many issues, Democrats tend to believe these differences are “mostly based on the expectations society has for the two genders.”

Women are all about feelings. But no matter how strongly you “feel” about your gender it’s never gonna change your DNA.

I fail to see the point of posting an excerpt of an article protected by a pay wall.
This is a duh. They radicalized women into delusional hate filled shrews who entitled themselves to things men earned and tried to cancel men and boys at every opportunity. This is just a response.
I think I posted the main point of the article - that manly men vote R while girlie-men vote D. For women it’s not that stark
I suspect they mean masculine at all.
I am terminally disgusted with the inability of the researchers and pollsters to formulate the right questions here.
The gender binary has to do with reproductive biology. In that domain, biology is absolute. Two acorns cannot hook up and make a new oak tree. Two grains of pollen cannot do the deed and make a new corn plant, dandelion, or raspberry bush. It works the same way in the animal kingdom. Sorry non-binary people, but to reproduce, you need one of each.
Of course, there is a faction on the left that now views the human race as a cancer on the planet. And broadly across the left, the view is that the world is hopelessly overpopulated and that large reductions in population are desireable. This dovetails neatly with the always present temptation to live selfishly, turn away from marriage and children, and live in hedonism (at least until nihilism and despair take over).
The left's gender confusion is linked at a basic level with the abandonment of "Be fruitful and multiply," or "choose life," or the foundational story of God taking a rib from Adam to create Eve. Swap the sexes there if you want; the idea is that the sexes are complimentary, and each is needed to complete the other. Those who turn away from childbearing, resign from building the future, voluntarily check out of the gene pool, and live solely for themselves are encouraged by the left.
Anyhow ... the very different biological roles required for reproduction lead to significant differences in body structure and especially hormonal dosages. These in turn have very powerful effects on temperament and interests, as well as the social roles that evolve over time.
But in these downstream areas, there is substantial overlap. There are outliers in both sexes. The gender differences are expressed not as a binary, which they are at the level of reproductive biology, but as trait frequencies across large populations.
The pollsters almost never specify the relevant domain. They allow respondents to conflate everything into an undifferented mass in which opinions will be dominated by whatever activities are most relevant to the respondent. Men and women are equally good at many things. They are only marginally different -- looking at averages over large groups -- with regard to many other things. They are profoundly different with regard to some things, and absolutely different when it comes to reproduction.
The left tends not to care because it has become operationally indifferent, and at times hostile, to childbearing.
Democrats like to be pounded.
So much for gender fluidity.
Or IMO the converse:
People who are able to accept that objective reality exists vote largely for Republicans.
People who want to first create a fake world in their mind and insist that the world conforms to their pretending vote Democrat.

I'd like to know a little more about this part. I'm female, and not particularly feminine in some respects (as in, very independent and self-reliant.) I wonder if that's what they mean.
And then there are those called by the new “N” word...NORMAL.
