President Donald Trump signed an executive order Monday on the stage during a rally in Grand Island, Nebraska, which seeks to cut diesel costs by temporarily allowing off-road “dyed” diesel for highway use.

"Today I'm announcing another unprecedented step to bring down costs," Trump said during the rally. "For many years, farm vehicles, construction equipment and other off-road vehicles have used what is known as red-dye diesel ... Tonight I'm going to sign an historic executive order to officially waive the off-road requirement and allow anyone to purchase tax-free red-dye diesel for any reason."

A short term solution, which may apply only to those living in rural areas where red dyed diesel is available.

The problem is still the global demand for diesel, and this won't help most people living in areas where farm diesel isn't available.

Put the sulfur back in. Make it easier to refine.

Red for on road use will just make less available for off road, a net ZERO.

We shall see though.

It really is silly, the only difference is the dye and the taxes for offroad. My red diesel still has low sulfur, all red diesel is still low sulfur.

I’d say you’re right about that. This is just a campaign stunt to get attention. Western Civilization (i.e., the First World White Race) is hanging by a thread, and the globalists are gutting us in every possible way. Been kinda losing it lately, the reality of our situation becoming more and more horrifyingly and undeniably clear. We need real solutions, not a non-stop circus.

Read the last line, this will really throw a spanner in the works. I can buy red diesel from the pump at the corner. Against the law but I fill my truck from the legal pump and watch guys all the time filling from the red pump. It is a massive fine but hey, it’s Oklahoma, laws are enforced selectively if at all.

This will be chaotic. I’ll just watch for a bit. The red diesel I need will probably go up.

>This is just a campaign stunt

I think you should panic, post doomer stuff, stay home and then see if the guys who put J6ers in gulag, tried to fine, jail, and kill Trump, bankrupt and jail everyone who supported him, and held red-lit rallies in which the Autopen called us all domestic terrorists will be kind this time.

When I ran a diesel Chevy Caprice during the winter months I would buy a couple of gallons of propane from the pump at the hardware store—totally illegal—before filling up the rest of the way with #2 from a “proper” fuel supplier.

Illegal but I never had a fuel gelling problem.

A better EO would be to eliminate the Federal taxes on Diesel altogether and challenge state government to do the same

If I were Trump I’d already have had the oil companies on the phone asking when they will start building new refineries. When they whined about state regulations I’d think about offering Federal land on a military base for a new refinery.

This isn’t just a consumer issue. It’s a national security issue. Rent Exxon or Phillips land for a refinery for the estimated cost the property tax.

My propane always gassed out before I added the diesel.

looks like Trump’s stategy to cut off china’s oil supply from iran and Venezuela worked
now they are forced to buy oil from us that we will export to them.
