NEW YORK CITY - A powerful, intensifying nor'easter is pounding the Northeast this weekend, putting over 40 million Americans in its path and prompting states of emergency across the region.
A powerful weather system is bringing heavy rainfall, damaging winds, and widespread coastal flooding across New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut. Officials advise residents to stay off the roads and remain indoors if possible.
With the storm forecast to stall just off the coast of Long Island, persistent onshore winds, heavy rain bands, and exceptionally high tides are combining to threaten widespread coastal inundation, dangerous surf, and severe beach erosion through Sunday.

My daughter is in Dennis Port south and west of Boston...says the same...
The eye of the storm is off the DelMarVa peninsula, directly south of Boston. The outer bands have barely reached the Boston area.
With that said, its a nor'easter. Not the first nor last. Been through many.
i’m around 10 miles ssw of Boston. This massive storm has been a breezy drizzle so far.
let’s see what happens...i’m sheltered in place.
Virginia Tech plays at Boston College today at noon.

Sorry for the double post.
Drove two hours to the Meadowlands only to get notification about 10 minutes away from the venue that it had been postponed.
Pretty peeved but in the long run glad I didn’t have to sit in the rain.
Heck, that ain’t nothing more than a thunderstorm in Kansas. We don’t have to worry about beach erosion though.
My son just stopped by in southern NH.
He was supposed to be going to the Ed Sheeran concert at Foxboro today. That was cancelled.
He bought the tickets a YEAR ago.
He did get a refund.

Same in Oregon….I had two tree down Thursday from 60mph winds.
I will be outside with my chainsaw today.
My father had to do that chainsaw thing not long ago.
I’ve lived all over the country. Let’s just say in Texas and Ohio 60 mph is considered a mild breeze. 😊
It’s called tornado alley for a reason…
We were on Hwy 59 heading to the Summit when we heard on the radio that they were canceling the show and would reschedule it for later in the year. They never did, and they refunded the tickets.
