A Republican can’t win, Becerra is already governor, and the remaining issue is Steve Hilton’s accent
On Flagrant and Funny with Jemele Hill and Cari Champion, Mayor Karen Bass did California the courtesy of canceling November. “That’s why the governor’s race is over. Our governor’s name is Xavier Becerra. You don’t need an election on November 3. A Republican cannot win in this state.” Then, she supplied the punch line: “And yet, a Republican with a British accent?!” The hosts laughed on cue like trained parrots.
The party of “No Kings” would like a coronation, please—just don’t call it that. Elections are sacred. Fascism and racism is everywhere. Unless the other name on the ballot is a Republican, in which case November is canceled. Becerra is already His Majesty, and the resistance can stand down so the mayor has time to police a British accent. No kings. Only a predetermined winner, a skipped election, and a lecture on democracy from the woman who just declared it unnecessary.
Steve Hilton, the immigrant with the forbidden vowels, posted the tape Tuesday and declined to clap on cue. “From the same people who lecture us on ‘democracy,’” he wrote. “How about focusing on your own race and the SQUALOR in your city, Karen!”
On camera he asked the obvious follow-up: is this now the Bass method — attacking an immigrant for the way he talks—while the officials who never stop preaching about racism and democracy look anywhere but the streets they run?

Spencer Pratt, who finished third (wink-wink) in June’s mayoral primary after leading on election night, put the same clip up Wednesday. He called Bass “Karen Basura,” said this is what one-party rule does to a city that will vote the ticket no matter who is on it, and noted that Becerra “isn’t even campaigning.”
Why would he? The mayor already swore him in on a podcast.
“More got done in LA in the few months that I was campaigning than in a decade or more, all because I put a little fear in this vile reptile,” Pratt wrote. With no Republican left in the November mayoral runoff, he said, that pressure is gone and “voters will get nothing.”

The socialist machine likely heard that as a compliment.
Hilton, a British-born former adviser to Prime Minister David Cameron, became a U.S. citizen after moving to California and took the second spot in June’s top-two primary. He faces Becerra, the former state attorney general and Biden administration health secretary, on November 3—assuming anyone still believes the date is real or that California elections are clean.
Bass faces City Councilmember Nithya Raman, a Democrat aligned with the Democratic Socialists of America, in the Los Angeles mayoral runoff the same day. No Republican advanced in the mayor’s race. The accent in the gubernatorial race, apparently, was enough diversity for the peasants.
That accent line does heroic work for a mayor who would rather not spend October on the Palisades reservoir that is still empty, the homeless commission she joined, then skipped, then bailed; or, the June primary count that moved Pratt from an election-night lead to third place as later ballots were added to ensure the two “democrats” were in the runoff.
Better to litigate Hilton’s consonants than the fire, the fraud, or the crumbling streets.
California last elected a Republican governor in 2006, when Arnold Schwarzenegger won a second term—accent and all.
After nearly two decades of single-party rule, Bass argues that November is already decided. So their subjects might as well accept the medieval typhus outbreaks, growing homeless encampments, escalating fraud and crime, fire-charred neighborhoods, and filth as the cost of doing business.
Election Day is still November 3, whether Her Highness thinks the state needs one or not. Good luck, Los Angeles. No Kings? This is exactly what you voted for.
