French government ministers expressed their worries on Monday over the impact of the victory of far-right ‌party Alternative for Germany in the Saxony-Anhalt state election on Sunday.

The Alternative for Germany (AfD) party surged into first place in the Saxony-Anhalt state elections, exit polls showed, putting a far-right party within reach of power at the state level for the first time since World War Two.

"It clearly sends out a very, very worrying signal," French Finance Minister Roland Lescure told RTL radio.

"This shows that we face a major challenge in the face of a populist wave ‌which is spreading around the world today and which we must resist," added Lescure.

Lescure's views echoed similar comments made late on Sunday by France's European Affairs Minister Benjamin Haddad.

"To see the far-right prevail in the German regional election marks a very grave moment for Europe," he wrote on X.

I’m sure either the German government or the EU will find a way to nullify the vote.

France is worried about that. In the meantime - they cannot stop the wholesale invasion of their own froggy nation.

French Finance Minister Lescure says “we” must resist the spreading populist wave. Two questions:

1. Why must we resist a populist wave?
2. Just who are “we”?

Oh, wait. The “we” are the traitorous European Deep States.
That actually answers both questions.

They embraced Communism in 1789 and they continue to reap the benefits.

... the victory of far-right ‌party Alternative for Germany

I've seen dozens of press references that describe the party as "far-right", but I've never seen a single one that tries to describe why they get the "far-right" label instead of something like "right-leaning". I might agree that they're "far-right", but they never say why.

Yeah all of France every single person and the entire country is concerned because someone might actually want to stop millions of illegal immigrants from flooding Europe.

Someday perhaps there will be a discussion of why anyone ever thought it was necessary to allow millions of immigrants from North Africa to take over Europe but unfortunately that history is going to be discussed by the north Africans running europe.

Can’t remember which decade the Frenchies said something I cared what happened about anything...maybe because it never happened.

I get your point, but the boats are full of fighting-aged men leaving France for England. The French are more than happy to let them go.

A deep seated fear the Prussians will take Paris again and kick out the Muslims?
It won’t happen. The Muslims will stay.
