Trump's Coercive Diplomacy Exactly How To Neuter Iran
RealClear Politics ^ | June 16, 2026 | Larry Kudlow

Give at least a couple of cheers for coercive diplomacy, which is to say diplomacy through bombing. As the Prussian military strategist Carl von Clausewitz told us a couple hundred years ago, “war is the continuation of politics,” or diplomacy, “by other means.”

Last week’s bombing may well have finally pushed Iran and all their internal factions to at least signing a memo of understanding that represents at least the beginning of the end of the war.

President Trump is a master at coercive diplomacy. He’s also a master of psychological warfare diplomacy with his threats to destroy Iran’s infrastructure, such as power, bridges, water, etcetera. He even kept Kharg island, the apex of Iran’s energy industry, in play as well.

The full text of the memo might come at the end of the week with a formal signing ceremony, as Mr. Trump said today at the G-7 meeting in France.

Asked by a reporter “when will the text of the MOU be released,” Mr. Trump replied: “I think pretty soon I would say I mean, I want it to be released because it’s a very powerful document. It’s not like the Obama document, which was just a terrible document. This is a very powerful document and I want it to be released. So probably pretty soon, I would say after sometime after Friday, of course, the Strait opens.”

And though we await all of the details, it seems that the president is keeping all his promises to the American people. And, for that matter, to the defeated and surrendering Iranians. They may never acknowledge their surrender, but they are surrendering.

Mr. Trump has said no nuclear weapons for Iran, and that’s in the deal. He has said that the nuclearized enriched uranium must be transferred out of Iran or...

He worked with Russia and China and every Gulf state.
NATO and the EU were completely useless.

We should have reduced their infrastructure to rubble while we had the chance.

Then talked peace.

The Iranian Revolutionary Guards get at least $324 billion in reparations and the USA gets a promise from the IRGC that they won’t build nuclear weapons?

That is one hell of a deal... for Iran! Meanwhile the militant mullahs get billions to carry on with there world terrorism, while Trump holds up a piece of paper.

FYI: I am huge MAGA and Trump supporter but this deal stinks to high heaven.

I think maybe it became more problematic than they first imagined as it progressed

The international pressure had to be enormous

Who knows

They will never honor an agreement long as the crazies have a say

REMOVING MADURO FROM VENEZUELA & OPENING UP OIL RESERVES THERE GAVE HIM MORE LEVERAGE, ALSO, IMO.

PRETTY SURE OIL IS IRAN’S ONLY SOURCE OF REVENUE.

VENEZUELA CAN MORE THAN MAKE THE DIFFERENCE........

AND IT DOES Not NEED TO TRAVEL VERY FAR TO THE USA.

Iran may get at least $300 billion from Arab countries willing to invest in a non-nuclear Iran. But that, as well as the lifting of sanctions, unfreezing of assets, etc won’t happen until a final peace plan is signed within the 60 days. This agreement is just to open up negotiations - for which IRGC hardliners have protested in the streets calling for the resignations, exile, and/or deaths of Aragchi and Ghalibaf. That’s how divided the IRGC is right now. Within 60 days those guys have to come up with a plan that Trump can agree to.

Not gonna happen. Period. Not with the hardliners still around and calling any of the shots. The only way this happens is if the IRGC shatters into a thousand dead pieces.

So what this MOU does is makes clear to anybody with a gun in Iran (Artesh’s 300,000 men) that there is a bright future for Iran if only the IRGC can be taken out within the next 60 days. Gentlemen, start your engines.

Zero doubt about that.

>30% of the entire Iranian governments revenue. Yes, extremely important.

Not sure about that. Even with Venezuela increasing their output by a lot, they are at 1.3 million BPD. Venezuela has probably larger reserves in the ground, but is at only about 2/3rds the production.

Iran is at 2.1 million BPD.

This is exactly the same approach used on Kim Jong Un and Gaza, and seems to have borne good fruit in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, UAE, Kuwait, etc. The idea is that if they give up on their Islamist madness they can have a good life. The plea is for them to give up on death and give life a chance.

It’s persuasion at its finest.

Trump got the Arab countries to agree to rebuild Gaza if Hamas & Hezbollah can be taken out. The Palestinians would be temporarily relocated throughout the region while the rebuilding was done and then the Palestinians could come back to a prosperous place free of terrorism. It’s not about utterly wiping out a people, then grinding them down in humiliation. It’s about offering them a way out if they will only give up their commitment to death and give life a chance.

This is also what Trump did with Kim Jung Un: imagined with him what it could be like if NK became prosperous and the people happy. He presented hope for the future, if only the culture of death was replaced with life. It’s an offer to raise people up instead of crush them. But it depends on them being willing to put their commitment to death and tyranny behind them.

As the CIA, Rubio, etc suspect, the IRGC will probably never agree to that. But they aren’t really the ones who count in all this. The 300,000 men of Artesh are who count. They have the guns and knowledge/access to get rid of those who will never give up on the culture of death. They can choose life for Iran and her people. I’m praying constantly that they will see the door that has opened for them and will seize the day.

And incidentally, this is the same thing Trump is doing in the USA. He is offering a good life if we will only give up on the corruption, stolen elections, coddling crime, etc. I have to respect Mark Cuban, for instance, for teaming up with Trump to provide more affordable prescriptions for US citizens. And Mr. Dell, who is funding Trump accounts for newborns so they can have a piece of the prosperity growing for them over time. Trump is vilified by so many people, but when you look at what he’s doing, it’s all about offering something good to replace what is bad.

“Netanyahu dragged Trump into it. Israel First.”

This is a zero sum game so you are backing Twelver Islamic Jihad. You are also backing a Chinese base/ Iran in the Middle East. To ace out US presence/bases there. Pray towards Mecca 5x daily for isolationist salvation.

more propaganda that only serves the interests of our enemies, whether that’s intention or not.

nuclear bomb material -— still in Iran
nuclear bomb factories -— hit but still in Iran
ICBM factories ..... hit but still in Iran
Iran is known, reported to be digging the above out so that they can continue manufacturing processes

Freedom of the Seas? not achieved. Iran says it plans to control, limit which ships can transit, and charge tolls. Iran still has weapons aimed at the straight. Iran still in possession of the islands that control the approaches to the straight.

Stop Iranian deploying, arming, training its terrorist attack gangs like Hezballah, Hamas, Hooties, and those attacking Saudi Arabian oil fields, those in the Somalia area, etcetera. Not achieved. No monitoring or consequences if continued deploying, arming, funding these dangerous elements. And... read on...

a reported $300 BILLION American US dollar payoff, bribe, whatever....channeled thru third parties so that USA admin can claim America isn’t paying anything for this socalled “peace”

plenty to complete or buy all the nukes and ICBMs the Iranian dictators want. Remember that they’ve always said America is their “Great Satan” to be attacked first.

NOW THEN, since the USA administration has hid this so-called MOU from the American people......the above could possibly be wrong (it is as reported by foreign sources). We hope and pray it is totally wrong and that PDJT has not disappointed America by snatching an ignoble and dangerous defeat right out of the jaws of an impending VICTORY by our great USAF and USN.

Hope and pray. Hope and pray.
The fog of war is so thick, with lies all over the mass media and internet. It is horrible how American citizens have been deliberately let in the dark. Horrible.
