A court in Scotland this week convicted two migrants of attacking a group of girls last August, prompting one of the girls to brandish a hatchet and a dagger to ward off the attackers in a video that went viral.
At the time, the 12-year-old girl in the video was charged by Scottish authorities in Dundee for brandishing the weapons; however, an investigation found that Bulgarian male Ilia Belov, 22, had been pursuing a group of four girls, making sexual remarks to them and physically assaulting them.
The court heard from the girl, now 13, featured in the viral video, who stated, “He kept saying, ‘Come here sexy. I will show you how to have a good time’.”
The girl said she felt “dead angry” over the man’s advances and shouted at him, prompting him to phone his sister, Nadjedzha Belova, 20, who quickly arrived and violently confronted a 13-year-old from the group.
The girl recounted she fell and hit her head on a metal handrail after Belov pushed her, and as she got up she retrieved the axe and knife hidden in her waistband attempting to prevent the man’s efforts to “try to go for the other girl.”
Belov, meanwhile, claimed he pushed the girl after seeing the hidden knife and accused the girls of racism, arguing they’d referred to him as an “f****** migrant.”
Sheriff Timothy Nevin-Smith rejected Belov’s claims, saying he found his statements “neither credible nor reliable”.
Via the London Evening Standard:
“For a number of reasons I find your evidence to be wholly unconvincing and self-serving,” he said.
“It is, as was suggested by the prosecution, a revisionist or excuse.
“It is a curious set of circumstances that having been alerted to (a girl) in possession of a knife… having pushed the person in possession of the knife to the ground, you turn your back upon her.
“It is not for me to speculate, but common sense would suggest that if someone had a knife you would pay particular attention to the individual with (it), for fear that they attack you with it.”
The Dundee sheriff added that the two other girls in the group corroborated the first girl’s testimony, and that surveillance footage also supported her version of events.
“I am entirely satisfied by proof beyond reasonable doubt that the trigger for all of this were the comments that you made,” the sheriff told Belov.
“I accept that as a result of the comments you made abuse was directed at you, which included swear words, including you being called a ‘f****** creep and an immigrant,” he continued, adding, “The words of the children were eloquent to describe your behaviour given your age and their respective ages.”
“Having made the sexual remarks to the children you then, enraged by the fact that they became angry and started shouting abuse at you, followed them,” Sheriff Nevin-Smith continued.
Then instead of phoning police, he called his sister who “immediately on arrival engaged in attacking one of the females”.
Belov was found guilty of assaulting the 12-year-old girl and behaving in a threatening or abusive manner toward the group of girls. His sister pled guilty to assaulting the 13-year-old by pulling her hair, dragging her to the ground and beating her.
The pair will be sentenced on August 5.
Following the incident, the girl’s image became a symbol of defiance in the UK in the face of the migrant invasion.

The story of this little girl and the video of her protecting her sister, which galvanised the world, has come full circle.

But no, just shoot them.
The real question is why she was firstly portrayed as the aggressor instead of the protector of her sisters? The media did this with prejudice against her. The media knew what had happened but lied by omission of telling the truth.
