US airstrikes on Iran reported, explosions heard in multiple cities
US airstrikes on Iran have begun, a US official told Fox News on Wednesday while explosions were reported in Sirik, Minab, Isfahan and on Qeshm Island, according to multiple reports.
Iran’s state broadcaster said air defense systems in Asaluyeh have been activated.
An explosion heard in the port city of Sirik in Iran's southern Hormozgan province, Iran's Mehr News Agency reported on Wednesday.
The sound of air defense systems was heard in western Tehran, according to Iran's Mehr News.

Sirik is right on the coast by the Strait of Hormuz.

Minab is another port city right on the Strait of Hormuz.

Iran is not known for having great compassion for its own people. They are hard core ideologues (ever since the Islamic revolution of 1979) and logic or economics does not really push them like it does us. Those in power are well entrenched and not to concerned about being ousted. This is a very corrupt society. This is a strong-arm culture where “might makes right.” They have cultural aspects which make what we would call lying or deception acceptable (Taqiyya). This entrenched government has a succession of command and even if you chop off the head, it grows back (not like a Saddam regime).
Point being: We’re eventually going to have to reduce them to a heap of rubble and ashes. Limited warfare where you hope they get the message and avert greater destruction of their own nation / society is not going to work. With Iran, we’re basically going to have to return to concepts of “total war” and “unrestricted warfare.” We have to hurt them so bad, break so many of their things, that they can’t be a threat.

Several explosions were heard in Bandar Abbas; Hormuz Governorate says it is military in nature
The Central Persian Gulf Radio and Television News Agency announced that several explosions have been heard in Bandar Abbas near the airport and air base. According to reports, sources have reported that 4 projectiles hit Bandar Abbas.
According to a local source, the explosions heard in Sirik were from the sea side.
At the same time, it is reported that people have heard several explosions in Kargan Minab port. The Islamic Republic of Iran Radio and Television reported that at 1:45 am on Thursday, a spot in Kargan Minab was targeted by projectiles five times.
A source in Hormuz Governorate announced that explosions caused by projectiles occurred in Qeshm and Hengama, all of which are military in nature.
More details about the origin or extent of possible damage caused by these projectiles have not been published.
