Vance’s Anti-Fraud Task Force Racks Up Wins Against SNAP Fraud (Minnesota hardest hit)

Vice President J.D. Vance’s Task Force to Eliminate Fraud has taken a number of actions to tackle fraud in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) in the months since its establishment.

From Operation Cold SNAP, in which multiple government agencies coordinated to execute warrants on SNAP retailers in Minnesota, to the Office of the Inspector General’s (OIG) probe into millions of allegedly fraudulent payments to dead people in Puerto Rico, and indictments secured by the Department of Justice, the federal government has taken a variety of actions to root out fraud in the food assistance program.

“Every day, the Trump Administration exposes more fraud. The anti-fraud task force led by Vice President Vance is working around the clock to ensure that your tax dollars are being used to serve American families, not fraudsters,” a Vance spokesperson said in a statement to Breitbart News.

On April 16, the Department of Agriculture announced Operation Cold SNAP, in which agents from Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) and the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Office of the Inspector General (OIG) coordinated to execute search warrants at 20 SNAP retailers in Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minnesota, suspected of SNAP benefit trafficking.

“Fraudulent SNAP retailers steal from victims that include children who rely on federal nutrition assistance and dishonor the charity of American taxpayers who fund the assistance,” USDA Inspector General John Walk said in a statement at the time.

“OIG will continue to work hand-in-hand with federal law enforcement partners and agencies across the government in the war on fraud and hold criminals to account,” he added.

Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins hailed Operation Cold SNAP as a “huge success,” adding it was powered by Vance’s task force.

I’m still overjoyed to see bulletins in grocery stores stating that Texas SNAP benefits cannot be used for sugary drinks or candy anymore.

It’s so stupid that this was ever allowed in the first place.

Clawing back money would be good.

But the MOST IMPORTANT thing would be to send people to prison. And not just nobody’s who worked at street level. The fraud is facilitated by Democrats in government. Send them to prison. That’s what winning looks like.

Corrupt blue states have an incentive to administer SNAP/EBT loosely and with bare minimum oversight. This is all free money from DC. SNAP/EBT are 99% Federally funded.

SNAP fraud has become a significant issue in Minnesota, characterized by large-scale investigations, federal funding freezes, and allegations of massive, systemic exploitation.

Recent developments in 2025 and 2026 indicate a major crackdown on what officials describe as widespread abuse of the program in the state.

In January 2026, the Trump administration froze $129 million in food stamp funding to Minnesota, citing a “decade-long social services fraud scandal” that critics suggest could cost taxpayers billions.”Operation Cold SNAP”: In April 2026, federal agents (USDA-OIG, HSI) executed warrants at multiple SNAP retail locations in the Twin Cities, targeting retailers suspected of trafficking—exchanging SNAP benefits for cash.

Cases include a Minneapolis grocery store owner charged with a $1 million+ scheme involving the use of over two dozen EBT cards not belonging to him to purchase items for resale.

Another case involved a woman receiving nearly $50,000 in benefits while living out of state.

Reports indicate that from FY 2020-21 to mid-2025, SNAP issuance in Minnesota increased by 174%, which critics have flagged as a potential indicator of massive, undetected, or under-reported fraud.

The SNAP issues follow the Somali $250 million “Feeding Our Future” fraud scandal, leading to federal demands for tighter controls on Minnesota’s administration of federal aid.

While the Minnesota Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF) has historically stated that fraud is rare (less than 1% of participants), federal officials and critics argue that the state’s oversight has been inadequate, resulting in a “huge” and growing problem. Minnesota has taken steps to fight this, recouping approximately $7.3 million.

The surge in cases has led to increased scrutiny from federal authorities, resulting in a “full-scale war on fraud” and new, stricter requirements for the state.

Some f’n short fat pig of a welfare idiot in line in front of me today at 7-11 in Tampa bought about $600 in scratch-offs with cash while dancing a jig leaning over the counter. Then he turns around to look at me to see if I’m looking at him. I wasn’t. No one who’s worked hard for that kind of cash squanders it the way this puke did. That was “found” money it didn’t cost him a damned bit of sweat to get. Welfare and EBT and SNAP fraud writ large. You know that. And I know that. This sh6t has got to be stopped.

Fraud is built into any large welfare system. The only correct solution is drastic shrinkage in size of welfare. That is exactly what Singapore did few decades back, and now Singapore has more rich millionaire entrepreneurs than any other country on earth, based on population size.

Someone on radio today said if all the fraud in government programs were stopped the government could balance the budget.

Can this be correct?

TURN OFF THE SPIGOT!

At this point bailing water is a waste of time. Cut it off. ALL OF IT.

Republicans are as responsible for funding this fraud and never doing their oversight jobs.

They should also put up signs “SNAP Fraud will not be tolerated. You’ve been warned.”

That’ll have them quaking in their boots.
