Democrats have spent nearly a decade in fight mode against President Trump.
And some in the party worry that they may remain trapped there.
An autopsy released by the Democratic National Committee (DNC) on Thursday underscored the point, saying that Democrats relied too heavily on negative partisanship and became too dependent on attacks on Trump in their messaging to voters.
The report also stated that “anti-Trump sentiment” has its limitations in terms of achieving electoral success.
As they were hammering Trump in their anger, Democrats did not provide a vision to lure voters to their side or an argument for what they would do with power.
This week at the 2026 IDEAS Conference hosted by the Center for American Progress, anger was also displayed by a series of Democratic speakers, including California Gov. Gavin Newsom, who is a front-runner in the 2028 presidential race.
He and others spoke mostly about fighting the president and his party, a message that Democrats caution will fire up the base but may not be enough to win over independents, and thus, elections.
“Trump is the best base mobilizer for Democrats right now. But I think there is a broad understanding that the clock is ticking on how much longer Democrats can rely on polarization because of Trump to galvanize our voters,” said Democratic strategist Joel Payne, highlighting the problem.
In a Substack post this week titled “Can D’s control their fury,” Democratic strategist Dan Turrentine also wondered whether those in his party could move past the anger in the past few election cycles.
After attending the IDEAS Conference this week, Turrentine said he was “stunned by how consumed speakers and moderators were by raw fury against Donald Trump’s administration.”

Snakehead, or whatever his real name is, had been warning his fellow Dems about this throughout that last Train Wreck of a campaign, that they were spending way too much time expressing their hate for Trump and not describing any ‘virtues’ of the Democratic Party, but they were not listening to any Middle Of The Roaders any longer.
What? Their visions are superb! What do they mean it didn't work? Killing babies, men walloping real women in sports, unlimited criminals flooding in from down, unlimited cheap deadly drugs, filthy cities filled with zombies, violent trannies on killing sprees, and Hate America.
Why, that's an uplifting agenda that should lure every voter.
Hate is all they have to offer.
Everything is caused by someone else.
Even their insane rage anger is not their fault. Alwa6s someone else.

Well, the Dems also offer ignorance, corruption, chronic policy failures, odd behavior, and sheer disloyalty to our country and its principles.
Once I saw a video where Democrats screamed and threw things at an image of Trump projected on a screen. It was just like the “Two Minutes Hate” sessions George Orwell predicted in “1984.”
Does this mean the Democrats are now thinking of stopping those sessions? They reminded me of a quote from the playwright Euripides:

As far as I can see, the Democrat focus seems to be to make sure that Donald Trump is not re-elected in 2026.
They may not have thought this through.

Now, they have painted themselves into a corner.
Trump does a good job of highlighting how crazy Dumbocrats are. His electoral success infuriates them. However everywhere Democrats rule is an example of poor governance. The waste. fraud and abuse scandal is going to be a good issue for Republicans if they exploit it. It is clear that the “affordability” buzz word just means more free stuff.
The left has absolutely nothing to offer except hate.

It appears the left (democrats, socialists, jihadis, communists, etc.), when faced with the fact that all their policies result in calamity, decided to switch from reason and sanity to hate and vitriol.
