Things are popping off in the Netherlands.

The building used to be the town hall of Loosdrecht. Locals have spent weeks telling the government that they do not want it to be converted into a housing center for more illegal aliens.

Loosdrecht, a waterfront village of some 8,600 near Hilversum, has been the centre of several violent anti-refugee demonstrations in recent days. One person, not local, has been jailed for their role in vandalising the building and police say they expect to make more arrests.
During the May 12 protest/riot, Dutch citizens also blocked the fire department from putting out the fire.
According to the European Conservative, the municipality of Wijdemeren announced in April that the central planners had decided to house migrants at the town hall building until November.
(We all know it won't be just until November.)
Riot police have been called numerous times as locals have gathered to protest. In late April, several people were arrested for smashing up the doors of the town hall/migrant building.
This forced the government to scale back the number of migrants to be housed at the center from 110 to 70, but the first batch was still scheduled to arrive mid-May.
No word on whether the fire changes things, but it certainly does make one wonder where we are "in the course of human events."

It’s worthwhile to remember, 3 of the 4 guys who raided Anne Franks hiding place were Dutch Police.
Sorry, but I don’t like what you are implying. Arson is arson, violence is violences, destruction is destruction, and those who commit these crimes need to be brought to justice, whether it is the Netherlands or Minneapolis or Portland or Ferguson.

That's reprehensible. Those protesters are trying to save the country. Which would benefit the cops at home having dinner with their families. Freedom is not free.
What these fellows did was the Dutch version of our Boston Tea Party. Was that wrong too?

The militiamen at Lexington and Concord were sick and tired of being pushed around. King George saw them as criminals. We don’t.

Are you sure? Didn’t we do that sort of thing during the American Revolution? Whether you agree with it or not, or think it is moral or not, people facing the obvious extinction of their people in a mere generation will occasionally set fires.

If it's western society, there are plenty of examples of "we" burning, destroying and crushing non state actors as well as governments - foreign and domeestic - when our way of life is threatened.
People, worldwide, are sick of getting crushed, ignored and ruined by their own governments.
If this scandalizes you, wait until "we" start running out of food, money and fuel.
This is not who we are.
When our own gov’t will not listen to us, who are we to become?
I’d rather they burn down the building to prevent the migrants from being put in, to having people have to deal with criminal migrants.
