Here's Iran's Reported Response on Deal, and Trump's Reply Is Blunt
Red State ^ | 05/10/2026 | Nick Arama

The Iranian regime has finally sent back its response to the U.S. on the question of a peace deal. But with Iran, you have to know going in that they are giving you something that looks like movement, while having a whole lot of "gaps" in the meantime, as the Wall Street Journal phrased it

I'll put in the proviso that until the U.S. officially confirms details on anything that was in the proposal, this is a report on what it supposedly says. According to the WSJ, the response doesn't "resolve the U.S. demand for commitments in advance on Iran's nuclear program, and its stockpile of enriched uranium."

Instead, it's proposing ending the fighting and a gradual opening of the Strait of Hormuz and lifting of the U.S. blockade. That is followed by talks about the nuclear issue for over 30 days. They're proposing having some of their highly enriched uranium diluted and the rest transferred to a third-party country.

Iran says they're willing to stop enriching uranium, but for a shorter period than the 20-year moratorium the U.S. wants. They are also rejecting the dismantling of their nuclear facilities.

So there's some movement in there, but there's also a lot hanging out in the wind. And they're still appear to be playing this "release us from the blockade" before getting to the nuclear promises, which isn't going to work, if this is true.

They're not honest actors, so how could you even be sure you got it all? Maybe our intelligence knows how much they have, but you would have to be sure of that. And what third-party country, and could you trust them? Not to mention the other issues like proxies and ballistic missiles.

What this really means is that the blockade is really hurting them.

President Donald Trump posted this about an hour ago, noting 47 years of game playing from Iran and delay.

They will be laughing no longer!

pic.twitter.com/ptJ9sDDjs9— The White House (@WhiteHouse) May 10, 2026

"Iran has been playing games with the United States, and the rest of the World, for 47 years (DELAY, DELAY, DELAY!), and then finally hit “pay dirt” when Barack Hussein Obama became President. He was not only good to them, he was great, actually going to their side, jettisoning Israel, and all other Allies, and giving Iran a major and very powerful new lease on life. Hundreds of Billions of Dollars, and 1.7 Billion Dollars in green cash, flown into Tehran, was handed to them on a silver platter. Every Bank in D.C., Virginia, and Maryland was emptied out — It was so much money that when it arrived, the Iranian Thugs had no idea what to do with it. They had never seen money like this, and never will again. It was taken off the plane in suitcases and satchels, and the Iranians couldn’t believe their luck. They finally found the greatest SUCKER of them all, in the form of a weak and stupid American President. He was a disaster as our “Leader,” but not as bad as Sleepy Joe Biden! For 47 years the Iranians have been “tapping” us along, keeping us waiting, killing our people with their roadside bombs, destroying protests, and recently wiping out 42,000 innocent, unarmed protestors, and laughing at our now GREAT AGAIN Country. They will be laughing no longer!

My colleague Andrew Malcolm wrote about Iran's delay in a previous piece.

And if President Trump's message above wasn't clear, this one sure is

“I have just read the response from Iran’s so-called “Representatives.” I don’t like it — TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE!” Trump said in a post shared on Truth Social.

That clock I've been talking about on the window for Iran may have just run out.

FWIW Trump posted that on Truth Social over ten hours ago because a podcaster I listen to read it and discussed it about ten hours ago.

That said, the podcaster proposed his own speculation about why Trump is so dead set on getting the “nuclear dust.” Thinks he might want to test it to see if the uranium came from a U.S. mine. Sited 0bama’s extreme interest in helping Iran and Hitlery’s involvement in Uranium One.

It’s a bit of a stretch but ... who knows?

Hey Iran, ask the Japanese about what vacillating on the terms of surrender gets you.

Finally!

Repeating an earlier response:
Let loose the hounds!
Take off the gloves!
Take Iran back to the Stone Age!

This all started because the people of Iran hate their regime and started , yet again , another protest against it. Because those in power consider themselves God's gift to the universe it merely killed them off , like some kind of annoying insects.

This time around we had a President determined to take advantage of that hate to make sure these madmen did not obtain nuclear weapons. This is why he was careful to destroy its leaders , its military, but not it's infrastructure or its oil industry. The goal is to make their revolution successful, not simply destroy them

Why has there been nothing known about any internal resistance? None at all. The people should start helping themselves, or, maybe they don’t want to!

Perhaps Trump or the US Military three next steps should be:

(1) Establish a complete No-fly zone over all of Iran. This would stop Russian resupply via cargo planes. It would also isolate Iran from most of the rest of the world via air travel.

(2) Declare a “Demilitarized Zone” or “Free Fire Zone” of say XX miles from the Iranian coastline. This would limit any civilian population and any military equipment or personnel within that zone. There could be exceptions for certain existing cities far away from the Strait of Hormuz. The purpose would be twofold. First anything within the zone would be immediately targeted by the military. It would also be a clear warning to any ships trying to enter Iranian ports that they would be fired upon. Second, it would provide a longer amount of time to detect threats to other countries and the Strait of Hormuz shipping. The longer time would allow the military more time to prioritize and deploy solutions.

(3) Use bombs and missiles to destroy power plants, bridges, and lower level IRGC command structures and bases. Since the IRGC leadership seems to be a big part of the problem, focus on the IRGC until the low level IRGC foot soldier rebels against their leadership.

So true... Also a lot of jockying for position is going on within the remains of the last leadership... such as it was... and the guy in the street is a little shy of dealing with any of them for fear of reprisal

Some kind of a leader has to be put forward, who will speak for the citizens (if only provisionally)... Joe Shmo on the stret ought to AT LEAST do that!

“It’s a bit of a stretch but ... who knows?”
I don’t see it as a stretch at all. That U One deal went straight to Russia, through Canada.
Where’s the stretch from Russia to Iran? They’re neighbors & partners.

I like to think I’m a realist on this matter and my view is that this collapse of what must be viewed in hindsight as a fool’s errand for peace is a good thing. A good thing because there is absolutely no other way to deal with Allah’s (Devil’s) henchmen than to kill all of them. There is no dealing with the Devil, period. There are Devil henchmen now all over this world that need to be addressed, but the most imminent starting place has to be Iran where it is displayed in all its horror. Think of it as the latest in another long-running Christian Crusade. Let’s not fool ourselves, we will never be rid of Allah’s Islamic scourge on Earth. It’s our battle to wage for Christ - an eternal battle for good over evil here on earth. After Iran, we need to pay attention to the henchmen in Africa and soon Great Britain, the EU and, yes, even within our Homeland.

Drop the bridges now.

JDAM the electricity turbines next week.

Get it over with.

Too bad so sad for the Persians. Their parents and grandparents put them on this track.

Time to end it and get on with life.

There is a massive difference between Imperial Japan in 1945 and Iran in 2026

the local Japanese population truly believed in the Emperor and rulers and were willing to follow them to death. ALSO, they truly believed that the Americans would massacre and eat (yes) them.

the vast majority of Iranians (80% or more) hate the regime, but are kept hostage by the regime (as the regime has the weaponry and force)

if you do that, then you make the war against Iran rather than against the regime.

That would be a mistake

The American military has determined that what you suggest will serve no useful purpose.

The military that advises the commander in chief has long term plans to get the absolute most bang for the expended bucks.

Time and diplomacy are factors in the destroy Iran action.
