The United States and Iran are closing in on a one-page memo to end their war, a Pakistani source involved in the peace efforts told Reuters on Wednesday, confirming an Axios report citing two US officials.

"We will close this very soon. We are getting close," the source said, with Pakistan's Foreign Minister adding that the country is working to ensure the agreement would lead to a "permanent end" to the conflict.

According to Axios, the US expects a response from Iran within 48 hours regarding the key points of a one-page, 14-point memorandum of understanding. An Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson told CNBC later on Wednesday that the proposal was being "evaluated."

The one-page document would reportedly require an end to hostilities and the start of a 30-day negotiation period.

Iran would additionally agree to transfer its stockpile of highly enriched uranium outside of its borders, potentially to the US.

Great news if true.

It needs to be understood that nuclear reactors produce plutonium.

That’s the way North Korea got its bombs.

Sunny Iran can use cheap solar power. It doesn’t need nuclear power plants.

But another lying left-wing media article just reported the deal is the same as Obama’s.

Regain access to billions in frozen funds?

$15 million per kilogram of U-235 in highly enriched uranium per year turned over (440kg of 60% - $3.96 billion/year)

per top model centrifuge turned over within 30 days
$10 million first 500
$5 million all others

per previous top model
one-fifth the amounts

$50 million/quarter if no attacks from Lebanon
$20 million/quarter if no attacks from Gaza
$100 million/quarter if Israel is not attacked

I expect if (IF) a deal is made to give up their uranium, it will be broken as fast they broke the ceasefire agreement.

And the families of the 40K who died in the streets and were told “ help is on the way”, how much do they get?

Why would anyone trust the Iranians to maintain their end of the bargain?

Popular misconception is that solar power is cheap. I is not cheap. The size array, the site, the battery backups for when the sun doesn’t shine and the limited life of the panels all add up to MORE expensive than nuclear. Hydro is the cheapest followed by nuclear followed by coal. Wind, Solar natural gas and oil power are all rather pricy with solar and wind being highly intermittent and unreliable.

I prefer the word, “surrender” to “give away.”

A possibility is to allow the US government to pay rewards out of seized financial assets.

Twenty million Euros will tend to make an Iranian sing.

They lie and always break their promises. It is a mistake to trust them. They have not earned trust.

I like my terms better: Allow Iran ‘give away’ enough oil to save its wells. That would immediately depress oil prices. DO NOT allow any cash flow until they surrender the U-245 and what’s left of the centrifuges to US control.

I don't read anything about opening the strait.
Surely that's in there, immediately and completely...
