President Donald Trump granted a key approval Thursday for a major new oil pipeline from Canada into the U.S. that’s been dubbed “Keystone Light” over its similarities to a contentious project blocked by the Biden administration.
The three-foot-wide (1 meter) Bridger Pipeline Expansion would carry up to 550,000 barrels (87,400 cubic meters) of oil a day from Canada through Montana and Wyoming, where it would link with another pipeline.
The pipeline needs additional state and federal environmental approvals before construction, which company officials expect to start next year. Environmentalists hope to stop the project over worries that the pipeline could break and spill.
At peak volume, the 650-mile (1,050-kilometer) pipeline would move two-thirds as much oil as the better-known Keystone XL pipeline that got partially built before President Joe Biden, citing climate change, canceled its permit on the day he took office in 2021. […]
Sometimes called “Keystone Light,” the Bridger Pipeline Expansion would not cross any Native American reservations.
More than 70% would be built within existing pipeline corridors and 80% on private land, Bridger Pipeline LLC said in a statement. The line would carry various grades of crude, including from Canada’s oil sands region, to be exported or refined in the U.S., company spokesperson Bill Salvin said.
The permit from Trump also authorizes other petroleum products including gasoline, kerosene, diesel and liquified petroleum gas. Salvin said including those fuels keeps the company’s options open, but it remains focused for now on crude oil. …

Excellent........
Nowhere in the article does it say where the pipeline originates in Canada or goes to in the US. Instead it spends 1/2 the article trashing other pipelines.
F the AP
“Environmentalists hope to stop the project over worries that the pipeline” could lower the cost of oil to people in the US. Fixed it for them.
That’s why you don’t abandon this guy over one foreign policy stumble. No Democrat is going to make this happen.
We need refineries that are optimized to refine the oil that is pumped in the US. Otherwise it is just continuing to line the pockets of war profiteering, price gouging, morons. There is no reason to need to import ANY oil. They sell the oil that is pumped in the US over seas and import what is used here. That is so idiotic that Stevie Wonder could see it.
Some big wigs in the oil business need to swing for designing a system that raises their profit margin in times of war. Exxon needs to die and be replaced by a responsible company. So does Phillips, so does Vallejo.
If California and other Democrats don’t want refineries in their state they can walk.
Outstanding. Get it built ASAP.
Maybe if Canada gets a Trump-minded PM instead of a Beijing-minded one.

Up in Canada Mark Carney will have to make an anti-Trump speech to pacify voters then turn around and let the pipeline happen.
In Alberta Danielle Smith is happy with this project. The province will benefit.
I approve simply because the left will lose their sh!t.
The pipeline will come to America from the free and independent territory of Alberta.
36” in diameter. Shut just one of them down. Make jailed prisoners crawl through them for a mile or so. Do it daily. Good exercise as well as punishment as they will develop claustrophobia.
May sound weird but what if it’s effective?
Maybe they should look at the spill record of the Alaskan pipeline, which is remarkable. I wonder how they keep things straight. Perhaps on even days of the month they protest the pipeline, and on the odd days they protest the high price of gasoline. Sadly, they aren't bright enough to see the connection...
Smart energy.
