President Donald Trump has announced that the Iranian regime contacted his administration to resume negotiations, even as the United States maintains its strict naval blockade.
In a significant diplomatic development, President Donald Trump revealed from the White House that his administration has received a formal outreach from the "proper authorities" in Tehran. According to the President, the Iranian leadership has expressed a clear desire to return to the negotiating table following the collapse of high level talks in Islamabad earlier this month. While the President appeared open to the prospect of renewed dialogue, he maintained a rigid stance on the core issue of the war, stating unequivocally that "Iran will not have a nuclear weapon."
The Pressure of the Maritime Siege
The reach out comes at a moment of extreme economic and military pressure for the Islamic Republic. As the American naval blockade of the Strait of Hormuz takes full effect, President Trump suggested that the regime is beginning to realize it cannot "blackmail or threaten the world" indefinitely. "We agreed on many things, but they did not agree to this," Trump said, referring to the total cessation of the nuclear program. "And I think they will agree to it. I’m sure of it. If they don’t agree, there will be no deal."
International mediators from Pakistan, Egypt, and Turkey have been working behind the scenes to bridge the massive gaps that scuttled previous efforts. The Americans are reportedly demanding a 20 year freeze on uranium enrichment, while Tehran has only offered a single digit period of restraint. While the President noted that the Iranians "would like to resume contacts," the White House has shown no intention of easing the maritime siege until a signed, verifiable agreement is in place.

The only deal is exile. Anything else and it’s Taqiyya.
Any deal struck and the immortal guard will get to work to eliminate remnants of the IRGC.
Send you surrender letter and we will get back to you.
The ONLY deal is they give up their uranium, ALL OF IT..not just a promise, not just someone monitoring it, NO, we take ALL OF IT, PERIOD..and the Strait is to reopen FULLY to EVERYONE, no fees, no hostage taking, everyone is allowed freely through it belongs to EVERYONE, PERIOD..take it or leave it
OK - as long as you don't bring that asshole we had to talk to last time.
Unconditional surrender. Like, the extreme version of Unconditional Surrender. No conversation required. Just say “Yes. We surrender unconditionally.”
I can negotiate a deal for the President. Hows about the Iranians in power shut their pie holes and we bomb the snot out of them till they are no more. Sign here please.
Yes because they’re never going to make real deal.
The regime’s control of information flow to their populace being broken would help greatly.
1. All uranium is turned over to the US.
2. IRCG is completely disarmed and disbanded.
3. IRCG leaders face trials similar to Nuremberg. Death penalty is on the table.
4. Basij is completely disarmed and disbanded.
5. Basij leaders face trials similar to Nuremberg. Death penalty is on the table.
6. Iranian ballistic missile program destroyed under US supervision.
7. Iran declares Strait of Hormuz an international waterway with complete freedom of navigation.
8. All current leadership steps down and is forbidden from holding any office ever.
9. Mullahs surrender to face trials similar to Nuremberg. Death penalty is on the table.
10. Any violation of any of the above terms constitutes grounds for the US to completely annihilate any targets of our choosing without warning.
I think that about does it.
L
Sure they will accept a deal, and just wait for the Democrats to be back in power.
Without oil exports, iran has only 13 days of excess storage capacity. After that they have to start shutting in producing wells, which start filling up with ground water. Then the well becomes permanently damaged go commercial production
So this won’t last much longer with no oil income
“The ONLY deal is they give up their uranium, ALL OF IT..not just a promise, not just someone monitoring it,”
Now the problem of Kadaffy arises. He gave up all of his WMDs as we demanded. I mean, he let us come in and take them. Then a few years later we overthrew him and he literally got a bayonet up the ass.
Then Assad, after we lied and said he conducted a gas attack, he had the Russians come in and depart with all the chemical weapons he got from Saddam. We continued supporting ISIS until we deposed him.
There’s pretty much no incentive for anyone to hand over a program to us except us threatening to invade.
Islam doesn’t surrender they rearm.
I would love every item on your wish list, but keeping the eye on the prize (a harmless Iran), I’d be OK with:
1. All uranium is turned over to someone not crazy.
2. IRGC/Basij/mullahs given immunity, provided they leave the country for Russia or whatever craptastic country they want to go to and take all their stolen money with them.
3. Missiles gone
4. Hormuz international waterway
5. A puppet government put in place, briefly led by the Shah, Jr. as figurehead with no former member of the the crappy political parties/Basij/IRGC/mullahs allowed to participate
Tehran as in the whack jobs in charge? Or those aspiring to be in charge?
There are times when I wish Trump would STFU. A master negotiator does not provide public running commentary on the situation.
Sure the people need an update, but not a running update. I worked for a guy who would always elevate every wild possibility of the new customers I would bring in. Sure it is important, but it sets one up for not meeting expectations. Better to under promise then over deliver. Common sense
He does if he actually doesn’t want a deal, but only appear to want one.
Turn out the lights
