Vice President JD Vance is projecting loyalty to Donald Trump as the president leads the United States into the type of war the Iraq veteran didn’t want — and as the new conflict complicates Vance’s political future.
Vance allies have played down the impact the operation in Iran could have on his presidential ambitions, insisting that a mission involving the U.S. military only for a matter of weeks won’t stay in voters’ memories. People close to the vice president have also conceded to The Washington Post, however, that a months-long conflict will pose a problem for whoever is the next Republican nominee. The people spoke on the condition of anonymity to comment on private discussions.
The war has put Vance in an increasingly difficult bind. Once a stalwart critic of America’s costly military interventions overseas, the 41-year-old Marine veteran has found himself defending the president’s growing appetite for military action while managing the fallout in a coalition that includes ardent war skeptics. He told The Post last month he still considers himself a “skeptic of foreign military interventions.”
The trickiness of his situation was highlighted this week with the resignation of Joe Kent, a senior White House official who quit over the war and publicly criticized Trump. During a private meeting, Vance tried to persuade Kent to not make his departure a public feud. It didn’t work.

Washington Post is in a bind for supporting domestic communists. But then again until recently all of them on the staff have been communists too.
If we’re all lucky in 2028 Iran will then be on its way to freedom and prosperity and the Iran ETF will be in many 401(K)/403(b) accounts.
There is no “news” here - just narratives and attempts to create narratives to take the place of news and try to influence future news events to occur.
The MAGA movement is LITERALLY 100% behind Trump in this war, according to CNN!

It wasn’t just Vance who was the stalwart critic. Trump himself built his political career on it.
It doesn’t take a genius to figure out that there is going to be some serious political fallout for any Republican political figure on the national scene who has to deal with a serious sense of betrayal among voters who find Trump aligned with some of the very same malignant globalists and radical leftists who have been among the most detestable people in politics and media in recent years: Lindsey Graham … John Bolton … Mark Levin … Hillary Clinton … Mike Pence, Bill Kristol, now David Boies. The list goes on and on, and seemingly grows by the day.
He was fired for leaking.
That describes it. All major media.
I think his political problems run a lot deeper than a war that 90 percent of Republicans support.

What the hell does Catholic Charities have to do with the subject of this thread?
Catholic Charities is what strips ‘credibility’ to a bunch that hail Mary and sells souls... empty vessels .. Why else would Vance supporting the take down of a bloody bunch cause any consternation ... NO money for Rome in the operation.
