March 1 (Reuters) - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said on Sunday that the changes in Iran brought about by U.S. and Israeli strikes should be "used properly" to benefit the country's people who had withstood violence from their authorities.
Zelenskiy, speaking in his nightly video address, said Iran's authorities had killed "tens of thousands of people in the last couple of months alone," referring to a crackdown on protests.
Iran, he said, had "predetermined the way it is treated" by supplying attack drones to Russia in Moscow's four-year-old conflict in Ukraine and had also "fomented wars in the region."
"It is important that the this chance for changes in Iran be used properly," he said. "The Iranian people were on their own for a long time, enduring violence while standing against the Iranian regime."
He repeated his contention, stated on Saturday after the strikes began, that U.S. resolve "brings results."
Zelenskiy thanked "everyone who is trying to prevent the spread of war" and said Russia should heed what had happened to Iranian leaders that "justice is finally served in the end."

Many FReepers view the Russia-Ukraine war as a good vs evil thing. They have differing views on who’s good and evil.
But, broadly, except for some extremists, NOBODY wants one penny from the US Treasury going to either cesspool of a country.
And the same is said for sending US soldiers to R-UK, and I’d also include sending any military equipment for free.
The same can - and should - be said for Israel and Hamas, AND Israel and Iran (though Israel is not a cesspool from what visitors have relayed to me).
Yes, Hamas is a terrorist organization and what they did is worthy of bone-crushing retaliation by Israel. And free the hostages.
The govt of Iran is equally repulsive.
Beyond that, as with Russia-Ukraine, I wish the innocent party Israel all the best. Go get ‘em.
But no $ or treasure or ordnance, or help from the USA.
As with Russia-Ukraine, people should feel free to Venmo as much as they want to Israel. They can even pay for a ticket to fly to Gaza or Jerusalem and help out.
But if people are consistent, they should not want any of our tax/borrowed money or soldiers or “free” bombs etc. going ANYWHERE outside of the USA.

Iran has been a blight on the world for the past 47 years. They have killed who knows how many Americans and has destabilized the Middle East for decades. 90% of people in the country hate the regime. And the 100s of thousands who escaped and are living abroad have been dancing in the street. And let’s not forget that in January the regime killed approximately 40,000 of their own people. They also have been doing all they can to sponsor 7th century animals all over the world who are a threat to every country in the world.
Their country sits in one of the most strategically important locations in the world. And they sit on a huge reserve of oil which they have used to pursue their leaders obsession with nuclear ordinance that they would use to blow Isreal off the map as soon as they had the capability.
I am not a war monger and would welcome just walking away from Ukraine because it has no strategic value to anyone other than Russia who wants it for access to the Black Sea and as a buffer from the Euroweeny glob0-homos who desire to spread their perverted and idiotic nonsense far and wide. The issue with Ukraine no matter which way it ends up will have little if any effect on life in the United States or any other country that does not share a border with it.
Anyone not able to see the difference between the two situations and why one is important and the other has just been an idiotic waste of resources and lives... then they are either stupid or deluded.
