Fresh out of wisdom‑teeth surgery, one man took a look at his dogs and was certain he’d stumbled into the Mesozoic Era—an anesthesia mix-up that has millions howling.

Tommy DiScipio, known on TikTok as @scipioskincare, recently shared a throwback clip filmed seven years ago after he arrived home from getting his wisdom teeth removed. Stbut I certainly ill heavily under the lingering effects of anesthesia, his brain began filling in its own storyline.

Never had this with anestheia, but I certainly have had it when partially awakening and have some wierd dreams where I have to go to an important, nonexistent meeting then gradually realize I'm still in bed and need to spend some time awakening before even contemplating doing anything serious. When I've had general anesthesia, I'm rightly advised not to do anything serious for about 24 hours.

There used to be some hilarious videos of young people after having their wisdom teeth removed, showing the effects of anesthesia.

I always felt kind of bad that their families shared those; but they were very funny - and strange. (I remember one mourning her teeth like they were pets or something, and regretting that she hadn’t taken better care of them.)

I’ve had people see and hear their dogs that died previously as the person was going through the dying process.

I hate anesthesia because of the side effects of waking up. I underwent a removal surgery a few years ago and refused it. I insisted I could do it with a local instead. The nurses in pre-op were adamant that no one could withstand this surgery without it, but I insisted. When the surgeon came in and asked me about it I told him I was certain that I didn’t want to go under and said I could definitely take it. He seemed surprised but he said Ok, let’s do it.

I got through it without a wink no problem, just mind over matter. And I walked out and drove myself home the same day.

I agree about trying to wake up from realistic but weird dreams. Why I would be going to Miami for an important meeting I do not know
And the panic in the dream at not finding clothes is scary

It takes a few seconds to wake up and realize you don’t have to go to Miami.
Whew

That’s a funny little story, but it may be artfully faked.
Why would he have someone filming him in such a state?

He’s lucky none of those sweet, furry dogs were Pit Bulls or any other breed prone to quickly going into defensive mode over unusual Owner behavior.

I don't know if cats count, but my sister, who was fading in and out because of a brain tumor, kept mentioning our long-gone cat Charlie.

I was in induced coma for 11 days. One of the known side effects is temporary psychosis. My eyes would open from time to time and take in what my brain needed to manufacture delusions that the doctors and nurses were trying to kill me. After I woke up I ended up being restrained as I pulled out my tubes trying to escape the killers. I had general fearfulness for about 6 weeks

Video recording people recovering from anesthesia is cruel ... showing it to the world at large is abusive.

I suspect my two ginger cats would totally dig it if I were coming off of anesthesia and mistook them for lions or tigers.

I was sedated for cataract surgery in Jan and Feb. First time I went completely out. Told the anesthesiologist that and he said “That wasn’t supposed to happen.” That was comforting! Second eye he must have reduced the dose so I was somewhat aware of what was going on.

It takes me about 36 hours to recover completely from that. I was going to go on a hike 24 hours after the second eye was done, but still felt wobbly and bagged it.

Never saw dogs, though.

A friend of mine who lingered for several years after a severe stroke told of his beloved pet dog from childhood as visiting and hopping on the bed to be near him. My friend's wife thought that he was imagining it. I am not so sure because my friend was otherwise lucid. There are hospice nurses and doctors who describe sometimes catching glimpses of visitations by deceased pets, relatives, and friends as their patients begin to die.
