Grand jury refuses to indict six Democratic lawmakers Trump accused of ‘seditious behavior’

A federal grand jury refused to hand up an indictment Tuesday against six Democratic lawmakers accused by President Trump of “seditious behavior” this past fall.

DC US Attorney Jeanine Pirro led the failed effort to indict Reps. Jason Crow (D-Colo.), Maggie Goodlander (D-NH), Chris Deluzi (D-Pa.) and Chrissy Houlahan (D-Pa.) and Sens. Mark Kelly (D-Ariz.) and Elissa Slotkin (D-Mich.) over a video posted on social media this past November urging members of the military and intelligence community to “refuse illegal orders.” *** Slotkin, who previously accused Trump of “directing the FBI to target us” and “weaponizing the federal government” against her and her colleagues, wrote on X: “Today, U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro attempted to persuade a Grand Jury to indict me.”

***

“Pirro did this at the direction of President Trump, who said repeatedly that I should be investigated, arrested, and hanged for sedition.”

*** “Hopefully, this ends this politicized investigation for good,” [Slotkin]added, describing the effort to indict her as “an embarrassing day for the Administration”***

“[W]hether or not Pirro succeeded is not the point. It’s that President Trump continues to weaponize our justice system against his perceived enemies. It’s the kind of thing you see in a foreign country, not in the United States we know and love,”***

“No matter what President Trump and Pirro continue to do with this case, tonight we can score one for the Constitution, our freedom of speech, and the rule of law.”

Kelly called the attempt to bring charges an “outrageous abuse of power by Donald Trump and his lackies.”

“Donald Trump wants every American to be too scared to speak out against him,” the senator said in a post on X. “The most patriotic thing any of us can do is not back down.”***

A Washington DC federal grand jury? . Therein lies the problem. The grand juries are randomly selected from the voter rolls and driver’s license databases. In DC, 92% of the voters are Democrats. Democrats don’t care about the law and the facts. Their guiding credo is by any means necessary to further their agenda; their agenda is to destroy America. In this particular case, jury nullification probably ruled the day. That’s assuming that the US attorney purposely didn’t tank the case or is completely incompetent.

The irony to this is they can remove those courts today, the DC courts only require a simple majority in the house and senate to dissolve them, then they can grand jury in a broader pool of courts.

Make no mistake all democrats and many uni-party republicans know this and want this to stay the way it is.

Would prefer to see the likes of ‘renegade’ mASSie and others focusing on spearheading ^ THIS ^, rather than his Eptein blathering.

What about a military tribunal, rather than depending on the commie infested DC area GJ?

“””A Washington DC federal grand jury? . Therein lies the problem.””””

If they accused a Republican of tearing a tag off a mattress they would have him sentenced to life in a week.

Which is why Masshole spouts off about purist ideology, it is cover for him being managed opposition.

His conservative vote record is specific to issues where his vote had no impact.

Actually, the traitors are Black. DC is a Black city where preserving Blackness is the highest priority

Agreed—the Republicans in Congress play to lose.

They are having a great time partying in DC.

Why spoil the fun?

It is probably not possible to survive judicial nullification.

This is a real problem that legal minds will have to solve. Jury nullification was always with us, but now it is growing and spreading to occasional judicial nullification.
We have to learn to play the jurisdiction shopping game.

A jury in a commie run state? Wasn’t OJ’s jury in a commie run state? Do we see a common denominator here?

What those six did suck, but the grand jury was right to not indict them. The charges had zero chance of sticking regardless of jurisdiction. All this failed prosecution did was give them an easy public victory over the President.

Venue is everything now. Justice is subject to location. In DC rats are immune.

Not going to be a popular opinion on FR, but it isn’t a crime for stating the policy of the United States in the UCMJ.

I know their intentions were bad, but they stayed within policy. The Grand Jury got it right.

The element missing is a specific order given by the president. Then, they would be guilty.

If they brought the guy who tried to kill Trump before a grand jury in DC, the grand jury would indict him - FOR MISSING!

Those people want Trump DEAD. You will not see a DC Grand Jury indict a Democrat or free a Republican.

and I think that is the nugget. A fence/clarification has been set for the next time. Worth the time and effort.
